Friendship Circle creates friendship in the lives of individuals with special needs and those facing isolation while providing an opportunity to become a contributing member of the community. Through our programming, Friendship Circle aims to promote an inclusive community that values all individuals regardless of the challenges they face.

WHAT IS THE FRIENDSHIP WALK?

The Friendship Walk NYC is a beloved annual event. Thousands from the community show up in a tremendous display of pride and unity as we walk the streets of the Upper East Side raising awareness and funds for children, teens and young adults with special needs! A 1 mile walk or 5k run is followed by an all day street carnival. All funds raised benefit Friendship Circle of the Upper East Side.

Now celebrating its 11th year, the FriendshipWalkNYC has the power to raise a considerable portion of Friendship Circle’s overall operating budget. Held on Sunday, May 21st on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, over 3,000 supporters from varying backgrounds will come together and go the distance as one. This year, our goal is to raise $500,000 for our incredible community.

Friendship Circle will display your company logo in a rotating format on the FriendshipWalkNYC home page as well as on a dedicated sponsor page. When your logo is clicked, it will link to your company website.

In the months and weeks leading up to the walk, all ads placed in print media, as well as 100+ posters that are displayed throughout the Upper East Side (street poles, synagogues, community centers, schools, restaurants, etc) will display your company logo. In addition 1000+ flyers that are handed out will display your company logo.

Friendship Circle distributes 1000 t-shirts to FriendshipWalk participants. These shirts are worn at the walk and year round. Your logo will be prominently displayed on these shirts.

Friendship Circle sends out regular FriendshipWalk promotional emails in the months leading up to the walk (at least five emails) to over 3000 people. Your logo, with a link to your company, will be prominently displayed.

SPONSOR OF A WALK ACTIVITY

As a Gold Level sponsor or higher, you will have the opportunity to be a sponsor of one of the many entertainment options at the postwalk carnival. Examples include sponsoring a show, ride, bounce house, craft activity and more. Your sponsorship of the activity will be prominently displayed.

EMCEE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AT OPENING CEREMONY

Your company’s name will be mentioned and recognized for its support of Friendship Circle at the opening ceremony of FriendshipWalkNYC.

Your company’s logo will be displayed on the official FriendshipWalkNYC photo booth backdrop (8-foot x 8-foot). There will be a professional photographer taking photos at the booth all day and the photos will be printed for participants to take home.

In all advertising, media, emails, website, speeches, etc the 2020 Friendship Walk will be referred to as the “Your Company Friendship Walk NYC” OR “The Friendship Walk NYC Presented by Your Company” (exact wording to be jointly decided). Additionally, your company logo will be displayed alongside the FriendshipWalkNYC logo in all advertising, media, emails, etc.

Your company’s logo will be prominently displayed on the opening ceremony stage backdrop (minimum 8-foot x 8-foot backdrop), which will remain standing throughout the day.

Friendship Circle hosts weekly programs, seasonal camps and special events tailormade for kids with special needs. At these programs, trained teenage volunteers become a friend and mentor to our special kids offering them the benefits of friends, play dates and activities that every child enjoys.

Our Friendship Circle young adults enjoy a wide range of weekly programs aimed at facilitating socialization with peers and young professional volunteers. FCYA programs give young adults with special needs the opportunity to make friends and hang out outside of the home in a fun, safe and relaxed environment.

WITH MUCH APPRECIATION,

TEENS

As our kids with special needs get older, they want to do what all other teens do. Have fun with friends, get out around town and enjoy all that NYC has to offer. FC teen programming does just that, pairing local teenage volunteers and teens with special needs for hours of fun and friendship at an array of weekly and seasonal programs and events.

PARENTS

Friendship Circle parents have the unique responsibility of raising a child with special needs. The care and support that we provide gives that extra boost that so many parents need. Whether it’s taking some time for themselves while their kids are having a blast at an FC program, or engaging in programs geared just for parents - mom’s night out, spa night, parents on the town (to name a few!)we are here for our parents in every way possible.

Friendship Circle programs are tailormade for local volunteers and kids, teens & young adults with special needs to build meaningful connections and lifelong friendships. The experience is made even more impactful through volunteer education, training and active leadership opportunities. Volunteer socials throughout the year unite and connect our diverse volunteer community. The result is a wholesome life-changing experience, where often, the volunteer receives even more than they give!
