Middle School Within our challenging and engaging Middle School program, we encourage new ideas and the intellectual risks inherent in critical thinking. We are ever mindful of students’ growing understanding of themselves in a larger world, and we work to build self-awareness, empathy, and kindness. The Middle School is rooted in relationships. Friends’ Central teachers understand and delight in the opportunities and challenges that come with shepherding children into adolescence, a particularly vulnerable time in a child’s life. The trust teachers build and the strength of these foundational relationships allow students to take risks and challenge themselves to higher levels of social and academic excellence. The individual attention our teachers devote to each student’s intellectual, spiritual, and ethical selves helps them to thrive and sets our Middle School apart.
