ENDOWED MISSION FUNDS Class of 2013 Mission Fund

Established and endowed by the parents, grandparents and members of the graduating Class of 2013, this fund supports each division of the School, Lower, Middle and Upper and provides financial support beyond tuition. Funds are awarded on a case by case basis for, but not limited to, tutoring, academic testing, books and supplies, computers, college visits and student travel.

NON-ENDOWED FUNDS FOR FINANCIAL AID The Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust (B.E.S.T.)

B.E.S.T. awards are made annually to students through the cooperative fundraising efforts of several area independent schools. The fund is for students in grades Pre K–12 with substantial need. The awards are given by the School.

Friends General Mission Fund

Samuel Ready Scholarships, Inc.

The Mission Fund supports each division of the School, Lower, Middle and Upper and provides support beyond tuition. Funds are awarded on a case by case basis for, but not limited to, tutoring, academic testing, books and supplies, computers, college visits and student travel.

Samuel Ready Scholarships, Inc. was established to provide financial aid awards to female students, preferably grades 5–12, who are being raised in single-parent homes. The students must meet the criteria established by the School and Samuel Ready Scholarships, Inc. and have substantial financial need.

The Barbara P. Katz Mission Fund

Sheridan Middle Income Scholarship Program

Established in 2011, the Barbara P. Katz Mission Fund supports each division of the School, Lower, Middle and Upper and provides support beyond tuition. Funds are awarded on a case by case basis for, but not limited to, tutoring, academic testing, books and supplies, computers, college visits and student travel.

Funded by the Sheridan Foundation, this four-year program provides tuition assistance to middle income families. Ten grants will be awarded annually for academic years 2013-2017.

The Susan B. Katzenberg Fund for Girls

Recognizing the many issues that challenge young girls as they attend Friends and prepare for the next stage of their lives, Suzy Katzenberg established the Susan B. Katzenberg ’64 Fund for Girls. Providing “last dollar support” for girls receiving financial assistance, the Fund provides an allowance for incidentals that may include, but are not necessarily limited to, students’ expenses for: extended day; books and supplies; sports equipment and attire; mandated class trips; attendance at sports and cultural events; home computer; college application fees; and day or away camp.
