The Jay Katz ’45 Art Fund was established in celebration of Jay’s 80th birthday and his enduring commitment to studio art.
The Jake McCracken Scholarship Fund
The Jake McCracken Scholarship Fund is an endowment fund created by the Woodbourne Center. The fund is to be held in the Trustees’ Endowment Fund, and the income from the fund is to provide a scholarship(s) for a student(s) to attend the Summer Writing Opportunity Program.
The Nathan K. Kolodner ’68 Art Enrichment Fund
The Nathan K. Kolodner ’68 Art Enrichment Fund is established at Friends School in memory of Nathan Kolodner, president of the Class of 1968, who gained professional distinction in the field of art and national recognition for service to his community. The Larry Krause Natural History Endowment Fund
The Larry Krause Natural History Endowment Fund was established to foster in Friends School students, and in other students through Friends School’s outreach programs, an appreciation of the beauty and diversity of the natural world, with a special emphasis on the study of geology and mineralogy.
The Joan Sandler Fund for Young Writers
The Joan Sandler Fund for young writers was established in memory of Joan Sandler, a public school English teacher for 25 years. The objective of the Fund is to bring to the Lower School a professional writer whose work and message will inspire the Lower School community. Shimadzu Science Fund
Established by Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc., this fund provides funding for Friends School of Baltimore’s chemistry and biology programs.
The Claire K. and Robert G. Loecher Endowment Fund
Summer Grant for Teachers Fund
The Claire K. and Robert G. Loecher Endowment Fund was created to support Friends School’s full-time faculty who are recipients of the School’s Summer Grants for Professional Development.
The income from the Summer Grant for Teachers Fund will be used to help the School provide significant professional and personal experience for the teaching faculty from all three School divisions.
Anne Homer Martin ’37 Fund for Advanced Faculty Study
The Claire G. Walker Fund for International Exchange
Established in 2008 by Friends alumna and long-time staff member Anne H. Martin ’37, this Fund for Advanced Faculty Study provides faculty with tuition assistance toward the completion of advanced degrees.
Established by the Class of 1959 in honor of their 50th Reunion and in memory of their beloved teacher, the Claire G. Walker Fund encourages students to “learn their place in an ever changing world” by connecting in a direct way with the rest of the world and its people. The Fund provides funding for Friends students who are engaged in international exchange programs.
Lower School Conflict Mediation Fund
The income from the Lower School Conflict Mediation Fund shall be used annually to provide materials and professional support for the Conflict Mediation Program for Lower School students and faculty.
Virginia Ziegaus Memorial Fund
The Virginia Ziegaus Memorial Fund was established to purchase books for the Lower School library.

The Franny Homer Fund of the Baltimore Community Foundation was established in 1993 by Anne Homer Martin ’37 in memory of her sister, Franny Homer ’38. This annual grant is used to support and promote girls’ field hockey and lacrosse at Friends School.
