WHAT’S NEW AT THE LIBRARY

STRATEGIC PLANNING

We’re excited to share that the Library is kicking off a strategic planning project in partnership with LibraryIQ. Over the next few months, we’ll be working together to shape our goals, priorities, and direction for the next three to five years. The project will roll out in phases, starting with a look at where we are now—our current operations, services, and community needs. Our community members will play an important role in this process. We’ll be asking for your insights and suggestions—whether in person or through a survey on the library’s website. Your voice matters, and we want to hear it! To learn more, go to fremontlibrary.org/strategic-plan

RESTROOM REMODEL

After 24 years, the Library is updating the public restrooms. Work on the 1st floor will finish at the end of May, and the 2nd floor and family restrooms will be remodeled in September. The family restroom will include a changing table and toddler seat as well as a lower sink for children to wash their hands. The update was paid for with the library’s Special Reserve Fund.

WHAT’S THE

BUZZ?

The Library has a connection with a beekeeper and will house honeybees on the library’s roof. A facilities staff member will be trained to monitor the bees and to eventually harvest the honey to sell or give away. By putting them on the roof, the bees will have access to the flowers in the area yet be safe from predators and mischief makers. We may incorporate a live cam, so you can keep an eye on our bees–stay tuned!
