Vision Statement: Freeze Frame is an international leader in providing enriching cinematic experiences through the delivery of diverse and innovative programming that educates, inspires and empowers children and youth.
Mission Statement: Freeze Frame provides educational opportunities for children and youth to explore the art of filmmaking and multi-media, through screenings of international film and videos and hands-on workshops in a multilingual and multicultural environment.

But did you know that Freeze Frame is so much more than a festival? Throughout the year, Freeze Frame offers countless filmmaking and media literacy workshops throughout the province, and in both official languages! I’m so proud to be part of this dynamic, 18-year old organization, whose contribution to the local arts and culture community, and to the filmmakers of the future, cannot be overstated. Thank you to all the staff, volunteers, and board members who
help make Freeze Frame the success that it is. Grab your popcorn, settle in, and let the show begin!

Welcome to our 18th Annual International Film Festival for Kids of All Ages! For almost two decades now, our festival has been providing inspiring and empowering cinematic experiences for children and youth, teachers and parents, from across Southern Manitoba. The young people who come to Freeze Frame not only get to view some of the most ground-breaking and thought-provoking films from around the world, but also learn practical skills in filmmaking and media literacy. Two films Freeze Frame is proud to screen this year are Wadjda, the first feature made in Saudi Arabia, and Horizon Beautiful, a Swiss-Ethiopian film about a determined young soccer
player. And we are screening 29 shorts from 13 different countries!

Bienvenue à notre 18ième Festival de films annuel pour enfants de tous âges ! Depuis presque deux décennies, notre festival crée des expériences cinématographiques inspirantes pour
continu de l’unique festival de films pour enfant de Winnipeg. Mais saviez vous que Freeze Frame est bien plus qu’un festival ? Pendant toute l’année, Freeze Frame offre d’innombrables ateliers de cinéma et d’alphabétisation médiatique à travers toute la province, dans les deux langues officielles ! Je suis très fier de faire partie de cette organisation dynamique de 18 ans d’âge, dont la contribution aux communautés des arts et de la culture, et aux cinéastes de l’avenir, ne peut être surestimée. Merci à tous les employés, bénévoles et membres du C.A. qui font de Freeze Frame le succès qu’il est. Prenez votre popcorn, asseyez-vous et que le spectacle commence !
des enfants, des jeunes, des parents et des enseignants du sud du Manitoba. Les jeunes qui viennent à Freeze Frame n’ont non seulement l’occasion de voir des films parmi les plus novateurs de partout au monde, mais ont aussi l’occasion de développer des compétences pratiques en cinéma et en médias. An interactive digital playground to explore “out there” innovations in filmmaking, featuring: oversized cameras invented by photographer Leif Norman and Bent Light Collective founder Andrew Milne; robotic puppets masterminded by local animator and sculptor Curtis Weibe; green screen adventures led by Winnipeg filmmakers Mike Maryniuk and Gwen Trutnau; and an animation station for young people to make their own paper cutout and junkmation films.
