Dig in! In somewhat of a mad frenzy, parents and children gathered on ‘the sands of Haleiwa’ to paddle out in the wide ocean channel of Puena Point. Right there in front of Surf N Sea Haleiwa, the infamous river mouth started to break at a spot aptly called ‘Chocolates’. While Wednesday’s massive ocean swells started out at 40 to 50 feet in the middle of the sea, the waves were indeed good fun once they hit the shore, morphing into 2 to 3 foot peelers on the inside. Perfect for groms. With an invitee selection consisting of Dylan & Makana Franzmann, Ben Benson, Paumalu Reef Malone, Isaiah Briley, Moana & Kailani Jones, Makana Pang, Barron Mamiya, Finn McGill and Elijah Gates, parents and unofficial official unofficials looked in amazement as the kids tore apart the chocolate brown ooze in front of Surf N Sea.
