Anastasiya A* A* A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths

Anastasiya is off to Bristol University to study Biomedical Sciences.

“I’m very relieved that this is all over, it’s been a long time coming and I’m really happy with my results. Whilst online learning was challenging at first, the School did a great job and made sure we all stayed in contact so it still felt like we were in the classroom. Teachers were always a call or an email away if you needed to ask questions and the online tests and assessments meant we could practice exam technique. The EPQ really helped us to understand what it would be like to do your own independent research and is the first academic taster of what it’s like outside of School.”

“Throughout the Upper Sixth, the School kept us informed of updates internally, from Exam boards and the Government with regards to the assessment process. We were never left feeling uncertain and the School supported us pastorally. Teachers were always happy to answer any questions we had. My advice for future A Level students is to keep up with your courses and don’t fall behind as it’s quite a big leap from GCSEs, and keep up with wider reading which will help with your personal statement and wider knowledge of your subjects.”

“Being at Freemen’s has prepared me well for university - both academically and in terms of being independent - to prepare for that step up to university. I’m going to miss the Freemen’s community, particularly the Music and Sport. My biggest challenge at Freemen’s was balancing all the opportunities available to me and fitting academics and co-curricular activities into the day, but it’s great because it prepares you for life beyond School.”
