Friends and Family, We would like to welcome you to the Tri-State Limousin annual sale. We took a little time off the last couple of years due to the challenges we all went through. Like Americans have so many times before, we fought through it, and now are looking ahead to greener pastures. As cattlemen and women, we are always dealt with challenges. The western drought has set many of our western friends back, they have liquidated cows to an alarming rate of 2%, that my friend, is a big number.

As we have done before, challenges bring good weather, and with blessings from above, those days are upon us. The past few months have seen feeder prices climb to $1100 and $1200 per head!

This will continue as cow numbers continue to decline. With that being said, Limousin cattle are in high demand! The Limousin to British cross has made its point and cattlemen see the value it brings.

With added efficiency during high feed cost, the Limousin breed shines like no other breed, and with added carcass weights, the dollars in your pocket, is noticeable.

When the Wisconsin Limousin Association discussed how to make this sale better, adding our friends to the West seemed to be a no brainer. The more consignors we can intrigue, the better our cattle will be. Moving the sale to northern Iowa seemed like a great fit also, and here we are. Our goal is to bring the best cattle to Decorah, Iowa every year, and with the help from the buyers, we will help you make decisions to improve your bottom line. After all, we all have to make money.

In closing we would like to thank Joe Nelson and his crew at Lanesboro and here in Decorah for hosting our sale. We would like to thank our board members and their families.
