Sharon Hansen, ’95 Major: Psychology

Where are you now? After working in higher education for over 25 years, I recently made a career transition. I now work for Isaacson, Miller, a retained executive search firm specializing in recruiting exceptional leaders for mission-driven organizations. I am grateful to be able to apply I learned in my work in career services and college administration in a way that is meaningful to me and impactful to the world. I always told students that the journey of career development spans a lifetime, and I am a proof of that. How did Fredonia prepare you? Much of what I experienced at Fredonia have prepared me for my career. My studies in Psychology provided an excellent foundation for my work both in higher education and in my current career. Additionally, I was well prepared for graduate school. My work as an RA [Resident Assistant] for two years (Alumni Hall and Schulz Hall) were what sparked my interested in higher ed as a field and in obtaining a master’s degree in College Student Development.
