Our School Frederick Irwin Anglican School is a co-educational multi-campus, Kindergarten to Year 12, day school, serving the Rockingham, Peel, Pinjarra, Murray and Waroona districts. The School was founded in 1991 by the Anglican Schools Commission. The vision of Frederick Irwin Anglican School is to provide a high quality, inclusive, caring Christian education which encourages students to fulfil their potential. The values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Compassion and Courage are touchstones upon which the School continues to build a caring community for students, parents and staff. The School’s broad education emphasises a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy and provides quality teaching and learning across a broad range of subjects encouraging rigour, thinking, fostering inquiring minds and a positive self-concept. Students are encouraged to make a difference in the School, local community and outside of the region and beyond. We are proud of our quality program in performing arts, sport and our extensive co-curricular program. The academic performance of our graduating students consistently places the School very well in the Peel region. This achievement is promoted and valued, as is outstanding effort celebrated.

Community Satisfaction Frederick Irwin Anglican School is very proud of our relationships and partnerships with parents, students and staff. We communicate regularly with our parents through the Newsletter, School App, Social Media and the Year Book: The Anchor. We conduct Semester reporting, parent-teacher interviews and information evenings. We believe that the ultimate indicator of community satisfaction is expressed by student retention rates: • •

The average student retention rate (Years 7 – 11) to (Years 8 – 12) 93.6% The percentage of Year 9 students starting in 2018 and completing Year 12 in 2021 was 89.4%, which was an increase of 11%.

Student Outcomes In 2021, the attendance rates reported to the Federal Government’s Department of Education, Skills and Employment from Pre-Primary to Year 12 was 93.44% (Primary 93.9% and Secondary 92.9%).

Attendance is taken twice daily in Primary, morning and after lunch. In Secondary, attendance rolls are taken continuously during every class during the day. Absentee information is then transferred to an electronic database. If a student is absent, parents are required to notify the School by 9am on the day that their child is absent. A dedicated telephone line with voicemail, and an email address, are available. If a student is absent and no telephone call or email has been received by 9am, parents of students who are marked as ‘unexplained absences’ will be contacted via telephone or SMS, by Administration staff, requesting an explanation for their child’s absence.

Student Outcomes: NAPLAN The National Assessments Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 across Australia. Student Outcomes: Year 12 Results In 2021, Year 12 students continued to face challenges due to Covid-19 and the uncertainty that entailed. Frederick Irwin Anglican School aligns with the view of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA) in WA that believes that ‘league table’ of median ATAR scores is but one, narrow measure of student achievement when there are so many other characteristics of our students that we value and of which we are very proud.
