El fotorrealismo es un género dentro de la pintura que se basa en hacer un cuadro a
partir de una fotografía. El fotorrealismo evolucionó a partir del Pop Art y como contrapeso al Expresionismo abstracto y al minimalismo.
Es un tipo de pintura que no puede existir sin la fotografía. Los fotorrealistas usan una cámara y la fotografía para reunir información y luego transfieren al lienzo esas imágenes.
El pintor tiene habilidad técnica suficiente para hacer que el resultado final parezca fotográfico.

CARACTERÍSTICAS
• Representa temas cotidianos, principalmente paisajes urbanos, retratos, bodegones, etc. • Reproduce y simula la realidad representada en una fotografía. • Presenta
imágenes
puntuales,
lisas
y
minuciosas, • Utiliza pinceles de todo tipo. • Destacan los matices de luz, color, sombras y reflejos. • La mayoría de las veces se limita a la pintura y muestra los errores que pudiera tener la fotografía.
