Jude 14-16

(Jude 14-16) It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15 to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” 16 These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own sinful desires; they are loud-mouthed boasters, showing favoritism to gain advantage.
The Theology of Jude Deals with Three Major Aspects:
1. The Triune God
2. Our Human Dilemma
3. The Nature of the Christian Life
Enoch: (Genesis 5:21-24) When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah. 22 Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. 24 Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.
The Lord Comes with His Holy Ones to:
1. Execute Judgment on All.
2. To Convict All the Ungodly of Their Deeds of Ungodliness.
The Ungodly are Convicted in Two Ways:
1. Their Deeds of Ungodliness.
2. The Harsh Things That Ungodly Sinners Have Spoken Against Him.
Jude Gives Five Descriptive Words or Phrases for False Teachers in Verse 16:
1. Grumblers
2. Malcontents
3. Following Their Own Sinful Desires
4. Loud-Mouthed Boasters
5. Show Favoritism to Gain an Advantage
