As the third year of Kreatives comes to a wrap, we are reminded of the resonating quote by Reid Hoffman, “ENTREPRENEURSHIP IS JUMPING OFF A CLIFF AND BUILDING A PLANE ON THE WAY DOWN” — and it really feels this way. On the way we strengthened our infrastructure, picked up more resources and mileage, added new team members, and more and more collaborators are joining the ride. The destination… a future which is massively better for everyone.

Our purpose for existence has become so clear this year. Kreatives exists to elevate all areas of life with the power of design and entrepreneurship. We believe design can help us truly understand needs and craft solutions for people, communities, and our planet. And through entrepreneurship we can deliver this impact. This is only possible by working with leaders and organizations who are ready to use design to push the world forward!

We’ve been a proud strategic design partner of the ALLIANZ GLOBAL EXPLORER PROGRAM. The program brings together curious minds around the globe to explore, connect and share how disruptive technologies can drive a more sustainable way of life. The Global Explorer Program is made up of a series of global and local events, digital and physical experiences and unique stories about a future way of living.

With the most rockstar collaborators we co-designed four experiences in 2019.

Allianz Explorer Series | Shenzhen, China We hosted an event-experience around Urban Air Mobility in China’s hardware captial, exploring if the sky will be the streets of tomorrow.

In a 6-day camp, hand in hand with FC Bayern and 60 Captains of the Future we explored new skills around “Dreams, Courage and Puprose” on and off the pitch.

The Young UN is a bottom-up community across the United Nations entities with over 1500 members.

In November, we collaborated with the Young UN to design in the inaugural CHANGE MAKERS PROGRAMME. The aim of the programme is to build a community of changemakers who have the perspectives, skills and tools needed to effectively drive change in the UN and beyond.

UNIVERSITY

We had the opportunity to be part of this highly curated gathering in Berlin this year by running a SERIES OF LEARNING EXPERIENCES around Science Fiction and Human-Centered Design.

Once a year, the Siemens CF A global community (Controlling and Finance Audit) comes together to celebrate accomplishments, strengthen community, and to learn together.

Throughout the year we had the opportunity to support the creative team at Sportscheck. The german retailer of sports clothing and equipment has 10 million customers annually in their stores and over 60 million online.

Our team helped with the creation of a number of social media CAMPAIGNS for example to highlight the athletic diversity of women in sports.

SIEMENS FUTURE OF WORK The #FUTUREOFWORK team at Siemens explores and experiments with new ways of working in order to prepare the workforce for the future.

We’ve experimented and designed new workshop formats to empower and build capacity around creative leadership skills, tools, and perspectives for the Siemens community.

Our latest collaboration is DESIGNING THE PRESIDENT. We helped design a set of engaging, non-partisan, policy-agnostic tools that can be used individually, by groups or by organziations and teachers in classrooms. These tools can help clarify the experience, values and personal qualities that we desire in a president — and why that matters for all of us.

It’s in our DNA to collaborate with bold visionaries. Lisa Kay Solomon has been a close friend of Kreatives since day one and we’re beyond excited to continue designing for better futures side by side with her and her bold colleagues at the Stanford d.school — the home of Design Thinking.

Another huge step for us in 2019 was opening our new creative space the heart of the art district of Munich. Our space is setup for creative collaboration, community events, workshops, co-working drop-ins, and a photo / video studio. And of course, a ton of social gatherings and hangouts. We want build something which will add to the intentional spaces where the creative and entrepreneurial community can thrive, mingle, share, and celebrate the hard work.
