To kick off our year of conferences, our FP DECA Officer Team headed up to Bellevue for the final iteration of the Western Region Leadership Conference. It was filled with mock competitions, keynote speakers, industry workshops and certificate testing.
From participating in bracelet trading to escape rooms and karaoke during the Northwest experience, our officers interactedwithleadersfromacrossthe
the 12 states that make up DECA’s WesternRegion.
Jordan Disney medaled in both the Mock Role Play and Marketing Test events by having a Top 10 score in each, with a few other officers just missing out. Each attendee completed their mock job interview and passed their certification test, proving their skills in entrepreneurship, communication and the use of computerapplications.
The first level of DECA competitions is the Area Career Development Conference, hostedattheWashington StateFairgroundsonJanuary16th.Our chapter participated in Individual Series and entrepreneur events. For these events, the top ten moved on to the State Career Development Conference.
This being only our chapter’s second year competing at Area 7, we are proud to announce we had 18 State qualifiers. In over ten different events, six people placed top third in their competition. Excellent work Franklin PierceDECA!

The Homecoming Tailgate presented by Franklin Pierce DECA is one of our chapter’s most important fundraisers of the year. Franklin Pierce DECA is dedicated to fosteringanenvironmentofcollaboration and community. As we entered our secondyearasareactivatedchapter,we wanted to develop an event that showcased this. This year, membership grew in size, totaling over 70 chapter members! The goals of the tailgate were to raise funds to help members pay for future conferences, gain community exposure for DECA and give students an insightintowhatourchapterdoesforour community.
