We are grateful for a successful and fun Camp Week for both our Upper and Lower Division students at King's Mountain Camp, and also for our Grammar students on campus for Knight Camp!

We joyfully welcome 56 new FCS students this year, ranging from Kindergarten through 11th Grade. We thank God for bringing us all together as an FCS family and pray with hope and expectancy for a wonderful school year ahead!

from Mr. Hatcher's Desk Dear FCS Families: Scripture is filled with moments when God did seemingly impossible things to make ways for His people. Isaiah reminded the people of Israel of these shortly before extolling them to trust that the Lord would do "a new thing." God parted waters and brought forth mighty armies. God extinguished threats like water to a lit candle wick.

As we’ve kicked off this new year at FCS we already see God doing many things in and through our students and faculty. It is exciting to be part of this great legacy and to build on that legacy going forward. As we move together through this year, I have no doubt the Lord has already made a way before us. He knows the very steps we will take through the coming days. What a comfort it is to know and trust that the Lord is before us! I am deeply grateful that God has brought me to this place and look forward to many years to come.

From the Board of Trustees: Thank you for your diligence in keeping your children home if they present symptoms of illness. As the number of infections and serious illnesses usually rise moving into the fall and winter, we greatly appreciate your conscientious care for our school community.

Patristic Foundations Dr. George Grant, August 2021

During the first two centuries after the resurrection of Christ, His followers were hounded, persecuted, and murdered. They knew great blessing and reward await all those who are slandered and persecuted, yet persevere in their callings, as Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount.

These heroes of the faith sacrificed their lives, their fortunes, and their reputations for the sake of the gospel. They considered martyrdom a high calling. In the first three centuries of the church from Nero to Diocletian, the persecutions were fierce––lions in the hippodrome, pyres in the forum, gladiators in the colosseum––and were used against Christians. Believers met in catacombs and caverns.

The same thing is true today. Our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq have astonishing parallels. In Jakarta, Indonesia, jihadists are threatening Christian schools, emboldened by the belief that the U.S. will no longer come to the aid of their allies.

So when we look at a map of the early church, we need to remember this isn't long ago and far away. When the culture of life comes alongside the culture of death, the first reaction to truth is always hatred, as Tertullian said. The early believers were astonishingly courageous.

Announcements Dismissal Procedure

To help with the traffic flow inside and outside the school building, we encourage parents to line up at the following times:

Please follow your oldest child's schedule for dismissal.

Parents and students now have an access code to enter the school building. The code is 2122# and works for the glass double doors: Monday 6:30 am – 4:30 pm & Tuesday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm

Reporting Student Absences Please

student's absence, early pick up, or late arrival.

PSAT Registration Registration for the October 2021 PSAT is now open through September 10th to our Sophomores and Juniors. Registration forms are available in the

Resource Documents section of your ParentsWeb portal. After September 10, registration will incur a $5 late fee and is subject to space and testing material availability. A valid (current) photo ID will be required for entrance on test day. Students can use their student ID made on picture day.
