Brief History of Tattoos  Tattoos found on Egyptian and Nubian mummies dates from about 2000 B.C.  The tattooing was practiced by the Upper Paleolithic period in Europe.  The word Tattoo comes from the Tahitian word tattau,which means “to mark.”

about one millimeter.  It is the most common method of tattooing in modern times is the electric tattoo machine.
