Sales Development Specialist FIOSA-MIOSA Safety Alliance of BC - Chilliwack, BC About FIOSA-MIOSA The FIOSA-MIOSA Safety Alliance of BC is a not-for-profit industry organization that seeks to address challenges and opportunities specific to food & beverage processing and manufacturing and to set industry standards for health and safety. The Alliance was established by industry leaders in December 2007, (originally called the BC Food Processors Health and Safety Council), to help reduce injuries and claims costs industry-wide, and to exchange information about how this can be achieved. The guiding principle is to create and maintain a united resource so that by working together with the manufacturing and food processing industries everyone can benefit from shared input and expertise to achieve our vision of being industry leaders in health & safety and our mission of fostering commitment among employers to reduce the unacceptable rate of injury in BC. The Alliance works in partnership with WorkSafeBC in their Partners in Injury and Disability Prevention Program, Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence (OSSE) Program. This is a program that recognizes and financially rewards employers who have high standards of occupational health and safety and return-to-work programs. Job Summary The aim of the Sales Development Specialist is to ensure optimization of sponsors and attendees at the various events FIOSA-MIOSA hosts throughout the year. Working with our partners such as Trevor Linden, President of the Vancouver Canucks, the primary function of the position will be to identify, approach and secure sponsorships for all FIOSA-MIOSA events and programs etc. The secondary function is to maximize attendance numbers at each event hosted by FIOSA-MIOSA. Duties and Tasks of the Sales Development Specialist
Identify events and programs to be sponsored/attended. Identify the appropriate Target Markets for each event/program Identify the appropriate companies from the Target Market list to approach Identify the key decision maker from each targeted company. Review/detail the annual budgetary requirements vs the necessary numbers required per event Review/revise/develop the various sponsorship package options that equate to our budgetary requirements Strategize the various approaches to be used to approach each targeted company for sponsorship Approach each targeted decision maker/company for all events etc. Set and confirm appointments, using Outlook and CRM Engage prospects and record details of the meeting into CRM Follow up with all prospects within 2 weeks to either continue the conversation, close as a new sponsor/attendee or discard. Develop promotional initiatives to attract additional attendee’s. Optimize the BC Safety Charter referral program Develop the various approaches to be used to communicate/secure attendees for each event. Communicate, follow up and confirm attendees for each event. Compile monthly reports on all sponsorship/attendance activities
