The renovation of a high-end hotel nestled in the heart of Dallas, TX, aims to breathe new life into an old establishment by infusing it with the timeless charm of magnolia flowers and classic inspirations. With 322 guest rooms, including 2 model rooms, Standard rooms, 2 Bay-Suites, as well as the prestigious Governor Suite and Presidential Suite, the design ethos revolves around seamlessly merging the original landmark structure of the building with its rich cultural heritage.
The approach is marked by a commitment to delicacy and detail, ensuring that every aspect of the design reflects the brand's elevated standards. Beyond functional and fictional layout considerations, bespoke furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) designs have been crafted to encapsulate the essence of luxury and sophistication. Furthermore, there is a dedication to exploring innovative materials that push the boundaries of traditional design, enriching the guest experience with tactile and visual delights.
By honoring the hotel's unique history and cultural significance, the design intention is to create a space that not only captivates but also resonates with guests on a profound level.
Standard Room
The Standard room welcomes guests with a luxurious king-size bed enveloped by a gracefully curved leather bed headboard, exuding sophistication and comfort. A thoughtfully designed living area complements the sleeping quarters, featuring a multifunctional TV/minibar/ fridge combined credenza for convenience and space optimization. Step into an interior design project that perfectly captures the essence of Dallas, Texas. This multifunctional space, comprising a spa, gym, restaurant, and ballroom, seamlessly blends modern innovation with timeless elegance, reflecting the city's vibrant energy and sophistication.
Luxurious elements abound, from bespoke pendant art lighting fixtures to strategically placed crystal accents that surprise and delight guests. Special metallic finishes on walls add depth and sophistication, while plush velvet upholstery and sumptuous textures invite indulgence and relaxation. Materials pay homage to Texas's rugged landscape, with warm, natural textures like reclaimed wood and locally sourced stone lending an authentic touch. Functionality is paramount, with every detail optimized for efficiency and comfort.
Central to the design is the intelligent use of sunlight, with expansive windows and skylights flooding the space while reducing energy consumption. A carefully designed canopy provides shade, enhancing the sense of tranquility. Infusing luxury with the city's vibrant skyline hues, we incorporate shades of reddish-violet and introduce natural green elements to capture Dallas's essence. The mood board fosters a harmonious spatial experience, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the city's rich heritage and indulge in moments of relaxation and sophistication.
The interior design project features a striking rotunda entrance, drawing inspiration from the lobby's grandeur. A hovering crystal light sculpture, reminiscent of an inverted Art Deco skyscraper, illuminates the elliptical stairs. Architectural plaster walls, backlit and subtly gradating in color, create a helical spiral effect, enhancing the sense of ascension. In the restaurant, flora-inspired elements intertwine with layers of cove lighting, guiding guests through the space. & Boardroom The interior design project showcases a captivating ballroom adorned with curved arch columns and a ceiling that draws focus to the central area, exuding an inviting ambiance. The spa area of this interior design project seamlessly blurs the boundary between indoors and outdoors, allowing natural light and lush greenery to permeate the interior. A gently curved circulation path softens the space's sharp edges, creating a Zen-inspired atmosphere conducive to peace and meditation. The curved window acts as a screen, framing picturesque garden views that further enhance the immersive experience. Guests are invited to truly immerse themselves in the tranquil surroundings, where every element is thoughtfully designed to promote relaxation and rejuvenation. The collaboration with world-renowned architect Álvaro Siza on the interior architecture of 611 W 56th Street in New York City heralds a new era of residential excellence. As Siza's first residential building in the United States, this prestigious condominium project stands as a testament to his visionary design ethos. Enveloped in elegant Perla Bianca limestone, the tower adds a distinguished presence to Manhattan's iconic "architect's row" in Hudson West.
611 W 56th Street has garnered widespread acclaim, earning a nomination for Interior Design Magazine's Best of Year Award in the Multi-Unit Housing category in 2022. Featured in renowned publications such as Interior Design Magazine, Dezeen, Domus, Archinect, Architect's Newspaper, and Designboom, it is recognized as an architectural masterpiece.
The public spaces within 611 W 56th Street, including the lounge, sauna, gym, children's playroom, and media room, exemplify subtle and refined detailing. Each area boasts a unique layout, meticulously crafted to enhance the resident experience.
