Welcome from the Head of the Prep School Ignite has quickly become an important part of life at Framlingham College Prep School. Week after week, Saturday mornings are alive with curiosity, creativity and laughter as children enjoy the time and space to develop beyond the classroom - exploring the woods, solving challenges, throwing themselves into sport and discovering new interests alongside friends.

This year, we are delighted to bring you another exciting programme of activities, designed to spark curiosity, foster creativity, nurture confidence and encourage adventure, with plenty of opportunities for children to try something different, build new skills and make lasting friendships. Whether it is developing new sporting skills, creating something extraordinary, tackling a STEM challenge or simply enjoying the freedom of being outdoors, every Saturday offers a new adventure.

Ignite is about giving children the confidence to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and supportive environment. It is about being active, being curious and sometimes getting a little muddy along the way. Most of all, it is about having fun while developing the resilience, creativity and confidence that help children flourish.

Ignite Programme Details HOW IT WORKS Every Saturday features one and a half hours of BEACTIVE sports coaching, utilising the Senior School's first-class facilities, followed by the delivery of a one hour and forty-five-minute, weekly rotating, BEINSPIRED session, in the form of one of four themes (see page 8 for details).

Individuals can choose to participate in the BEACTIVE sessions only, the BEINSPIRED sessions only, or join the full programme for the entire morning. Registration for the programme is via our dedicated web page framlinghamcollege.co.uk/ignite .

To get the most out of the Ignite programme and reap all the benefits, we recommend your child/children join us for the full term, with online booking on a termly basis. However, we know other commitments come up, and so if you cannot attend some of the programme dates you can easily let us know on the registration form, or by contacting Prep School Admin prepadmin@framlinghamcollege.co.uk .

Children will take part in activities alongside participants of similar ages, divided into groups according to the school year group they are in. BEACTIVE, children will participate as Year 2 - 4, Year 5 & 6 and Year 7 & 8. For BEINSPIRED sessions, the groups will include Years 2 – 5 and Years 6 - 8.

Ignite is open to children in Years 2 - 8 From Framlingham College Prep School and any other school in the area.

Ignite Programme Details WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? Ignite is all about having a good time, so we suggest children come dressed in whatever they feel most comfortable wearing (and perhaps that they don’t mind getting a bit dirty).

For the BEACTIVE sessions, sportswear and appropriate footwear will be required. For BEINSPIRED sessions, children can wear casual clothes, but may be required to bring in certain specific requirements week by week (wellies for example). Having a change of clothes is always a good idea, as you never know what exciting things might happen at Ignite. Parents will receive an email each week to explain if any special kit is needed for the following Saturday and to confirm pick up and drop off venues as sometimes these change from Prep School to Senior and vice versa.

A water bottle is essential to keep children hydrated and their body and mind firing on all cylinders.

Please note Ignite will finish at 12.45 and lunch is not included in the programme. However, should you require your child/children to eat with us, you can book for them to join the mealtime for £5 as an additional extra on the booking form. Be assured that a snack will be provided as part of the programme, to prevent anyone getting too hungry.

WHAT DOES IT COST? For children who are currently pupils at Framlingham College Prep School the full Ignite programme, BEACTIVE and BEINSPIRED sessions, are included in your termly fees.

Children who do not attend the school are equally welcome. For families who are not part of the Framlingham College Prep School community, Ignite is charged on a termly basis, the BEACTIVE sessions at £65 per term, the BEINSPIRED sessions at £65 per term, making the full cost of the programme £130. Payments will be taken online via the registration form.

Elite sports coaching to build skill, teamwork and confidence.

BEACTIVE Ignite’s sports provision, BEACTIVE, will enhance children's athletic abilities and instil a holistic understanding of physical fitness and mental resilience. Through tailored training sessions and skillbuilding exercises, participants will develop agility, coordination, and teamwork skills, plus gain insights into the mental fortitude required to reach peak performance. The programme will nurture those of all sporting abilities, and equip them with the physical and mental strength to excel both on and off the field.

Our BEACTIVE sessions give children the chance to learn, grow, and thrive under the expert guidance of Framlingham College’s highly experienced Heads of Hockey and Rugby. Whether your child is picking up a stick or ball for the first time, or already competing at national school level, our coaches tailor each session to their needs and ability.

Popular with pupils from Framlingham College and many other schools, each session blends fun and learning—starting with engaging drills and skill-building games, before moving into exciting, competitive match play. Along the way, children develop not only their technique, but also teamwork, fitness, resilience, and the joy of being part of a sporting community.

Four themed adventures in creativity, discovery, adventure and growth

BEINSPIRED to BECURIOUS, BEADVENTUROUS, BECREATIVE and BECONFIDENT

Our four themed areas: BECURIOUS, BEADVENTUROUS, BECREATIVE, and BECONFIDENT form our BEINSPIRED strand. Here, our mission is simple: to provide a dynamic and child-led learning environment that ignites and inspires curiosity, fosters creativity, builds confidence, and cultivates a spirit of adventure.

BECURIOUS will provide children with an engaging array of STEM-related activities, designed to spark their curiosity and inspire a love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

From hands-on experiments and interactive demonstrations, and through exploration and discovery, children will develop critical thinking skills, enhance their creativity, and gain a deeper understanding of the principles that govern the world around them.

BECREATIVE will enable children to experience an immersive journey into the world of art, design, technology, and the performing arts, where imagination knows no bounds. Through a variety of hands-on activities, including painting, crafting, music, drama and cookery, participants will unleash their artistic talents and explore innovative ways to express themselves. BeCreative fosters creativity, nurtures self-expression, and cultivates a lifelong appreciation for the arts in all its forms.

BEADVENTUROUS will see children delve into the wonders of outdoor learning, immersing themselves in nature to cultivate vital life skills. Through exhilarating activities like bushcraft,

orienteering, and wilderness exploration, participants develop resilience and problem-solving abilities. BeAdventurous fosters a deep appreciation for the outdoors while promoting physical health and well-being. It is an opportunity for children to embrace adventure, connect with nature, and develop the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

BECONFIDENT allows children to embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth, gaining an enhanced ‘real world’ skill set and a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. Through activities such as mindfulness exercises, environmental investigation and cultural exploration, participants develop self-assurance, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence. BeConfident fosters a sense of empowerment for children to embrace their unique identities and navigate the complexities of the world with courage and resilience.

The Autumn Term sports sessions are hockey and rugby. Pick-up and drop-off is from the Fowler Pavilion at the Senior School. Hockey players require mouthguards, shinpads and astros or trainers and a stick (we have a small number we can provide if needed). Rugby players require mouthguards and rugby boots.

Content of Ignite Into the Wild – Think you've got what it takes to survive in the wild? Light a fire, cook over open flames and battle through a series of demanding team challenges. This is raw, real and outdoors — where instincts are tested and only the toughest teams prevail.

Discover Morning – A morning like no other. Join pupils from across the region as we throw open our doors for a morning of STEM challenges, live music and drama — all under one roof. Investigate, perform, create and collaborate with new faces and fresh ideas. This is what happens when curious minds come together.

NO IGNITE - Exeat Weekend BBC Young Reporters – Microphone in hand, notebook at the ready. In this session, you'll hunt down real stories, dig into the facts and deliver them to camera just like a professional broadcast journalist. Research, report and present — this is the news and you're the one telling it.

Conker Kingdom – Autumn's most satisfying treasure is back — and this time it's the star of the show. Sculpt, build and create with conkers at the heart of everything, turning the season's finest finds into something truly extraordinary.

Content of Ignite Quake Proof – The ground is shaking and your building is being put to the test. Design and construct a structure strong enough to survive a simulated earthquake — then watch to see if it stands. This is engineering under pressure, where every decision counts and only the smartest builds survive.

Autumn Awakening – The season is bursting with colour, texture and life — and so is this session. Paint, sculpt and collage your way through autumn, using nature itself as your canvas. Pumpkins, leaves, clay and creativity: let the season inspire you.

NO IGNITE - Exeat Weekend Oddities Orchestra – Not all instruments make it into the school orchestra — and that's exactly why they're interesting. In this session, you'll get your hands on some wonderfully unusual instruments — the ones you rarely see in a school hall. Play them, explore them and together create something gloriously unexpected.

Winter Wondercraft – When winter arrives, magic is everywhere — you just have to make it. Ice a biscuit, fold a perfect snowflake and stitch something beautiful to hang on the tree.

Festive, calm and quietly wonderful.
