We are excited to welcome a special speaker from Abe’s Garden on Wednesday, April 9th at 6:00pm. We invite you to come and learn about The Club at Abe’s Garden, which is opening soon right here in Columbia. This adult day program offers a safe and supportive environment for individuals living with dementia, focusing on researchbased engagement and innovative care. Columbia is truly blessed to have this wonderful resource in our community, and we encourage you to attend this event to hear more about it!

Special Presenter Sam Kennedy III

Be sure to make reservations for the April J O Y Fellowship lunch and program We are honored to have Sam Kennedy III share his expertise in “Regenerative Agriculture” Sam is owner and operator of Kettle Mills Livestock Co , a regenerative grazing operation of about 3,000 acres that raises cattle and sheep, as well as Kettle Mills Farm, in which he and his wife, Rachel, and their three children, Margaret, Samuel, and Ridley reside. Sam began his passion for farming growing up on his parent’s farm known as Glendale Farm, also in Maury County. He is recognized as the 7th generation farmer of Kettle Mills. Sam has been awarded the Kiwanis Young Farmer of the Year in 2014, Conservation Farmer of the Year in 2015 and 2022, and the Maury Alliance Century Farm of the Year in 2022. A worthy note, Sam and Rachel are the son-in-law and daughter of Karen Vest, respectively, a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church. Sam may be bringing a wooly surprise! Please make your reservation by Thursday, April 11th, at noon.

10:00AM Palm Sunday Processional

Palm Sunday

We invite all children to take part in a joyful Palm Sunday Processional. We will gather on Sunday, April 13th, at 10:00am in the Fellowship Hall. We will have palm branches and walk together at the beginning of the service to replicate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem!

10:30AM Worship Service

On this day we sing “hosanna”. Jesus was greeted with “hosanna” as he came into Jerusalem. Unlike the joyous “Hallelujah” (or Alleluia), hosanna is a word of adoration and respect which means “please save us ” . Holy Communion will not be celebrated today.

3:00PM

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the home of Neelley and John King We are collecting candy filled eggs beginning Sunday, March 16th You may place your donation in the basket in the Gathering Space. No chocolate, please.

7:00PM FPC Choir Practice

There will be no Wonderful Wednesday Night programming on April 16th, but the FPC Choir will still meet at 7:00pm. Wednesday,April16th No Wonderful Wednesday

TheMaundyThursdayserviceisacommemorationoftheLastSupper.Todayisthefirstdayof theTriduum,thethreeholydaysprecedingEaster.Theword“maundy”isfromthesameroot as “mandate”,referringtothenewcommandmentinJohn13:34.

Attheconclusionoftheservice,ornamentalfurnishingsarestrippedfromthesanctuary, symbolizingJesus’abandonmentbyhisdisciples,hisstrippingbythesoldiers,andpreparation ofnewlifeHolyCommunioniscelebratedtoday.

Ecumenical Service at FUMC 12:00PM

Join us as we celebrate Good Friday during the Ecumenical Service across the street at Columbia First United Methodist Church at 12:00 noon.

Our church office will be closed on Good Friday.

Sunday,April20th

Easter Sunday

Join us in celebrating the joy of Easter by bringing fresh flower stems to adorn our beautiful new Easter cross, which will be displayed on the front lawn of the church on Easter Sunday. This new tradition is a wonderful way to share in the beauty of Christ’s resurrection and bring glory to God. Let’s fill the cross with vibrant blossoms as a symbol of new life and hope!

Worship Services

We will have two services on Easter Sunday at 8:15 and 10:30am. We will also celebrate Holy Communion today

10:00AM

If you would like your photo taken for Easter, Susie will be taking photos on the front lawn of the church (weather permitting) Easter Photos

There will be no Sunday School on Easter Sunday.

Monday,April21st Easter Monday

Join us on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 4:00–6:00 PM at Antrim for a special celebration honoring our beloved Director of Christian Education, Susie Baxter as she retires after years of dedicated service. We'll gather for a fun afternoon filled with games, sweet treats, and heartfelt fellowship as we celebrate Susie’s legacy and all she’s done for our church family. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
