T&P Trail Head Park: The T&P Trail Head Park is named after the Texas and Pacific Railroad which ran through the property in the 1870’s. The park hosts live concerts and holiday festivals and is the home of the 3 Bostons Museum and a Veterans memorial.
The Red River Army Depot has been providing much needed jobs to the local area since its activation in 1941. The Depot serves as a reminder of the power of the United States Army.

The Williams House Museum, in DeKalb, was originally a Texas and Pacific Railroad Section House in 1885. The museum features exhibits of famous DeKalb citizens including Bonanza’s Dan Blocker, music icon Ricky Nelson, and Luke Walker (member of the Pittsburg Pirates in 1971), to name a few. The museum is available for private functions of all kinds and now specializes in fine, catered meals in a one of a kind setting.
De Kalb is situated about 35 miles west of Texarkana in western Bowie County.
The seat of Bowie County lies about 25 miles west of Texarkana in New Boston.New Boston’s original Bowie County courthouse was built in 1889 and existed until 1987. The current courthouse was built in 1986 and has served the local population ever since. The foyer is large enough to host events both political and otherwise.
New Boston Visitor Center is home for the 3 Bostons Museum, Chamber of Commerce, SIDC, and Parks and Tourism. Chamber/SIDC Hours Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. 3 Bostons Museum Hours Tue-Fri 10am-5pm, Sat 10 am-4pm, Sun 12pm-3pm

Tapp Park in New Boston now boasts new (2024) playground equipment for families to enjoy. Paired with a walking track, picnic tables and the neighboring baseball fields, Tapp Park is filled with fun for familes of all ages.
Elliot Lake Recreation Area located on the Red River Army Depot, aprox. 7 miles from the main gate. This area has playgrounds, rv camp sites, cabins, swimming, fishing, hiking trails and more! Visitors must have a pass that can be collected at the Visitors Control Center on base.
. De Kalb City Lake Park is home to many of the town’s events. Numerous baseball fields surround a pavilion, restrooms, concession stand, playground with swing sets and plently of space to explore.
Wright Patman Lake is located in the beautiful piney woods of northeast Texas. The lake includes about 30,000 surface acres of water and 50,000 acres of land. Numerous recreational opportunities are available including camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, hunting, and wildlife viewing including wintering bald eagles, pelicans, and various migratory ducks.
Renovated in 2023, Scrapp Miller Park features new playground equipment, pavilion, basketball court, picnic tables and grills. Located on the North side of New Boston, Scrapp Miller Park is named after one of the first African American workers for the City of New Boston.
