Carfentanil is a variation of fentanyl and is considered the world’s most powerful commercial opioid. It is 100 times stronger than fentanyl and over 10,000 times stronger than morphine.

Carfentanil is so powerful that the effects on the body and brain begin very quickly. Overdose symptoms begin immediately after ingestion. If an overdose reversal treatment is not administered the effects are often fatal. Even if treated quickly, the strength of this drug usually requires numerous doses of Narcan to fully revive an overdose victim. Most people who were given Carfentanil did not realize what they had taken as it was mixed with more commonly abused drugs.
