As we recover from the days of businesses closed due to the pandemic and the struggles to staff our businesses, shopping local has never meant more. Our Chamber of Commerce is stronger and dedicated to our member businesses as we continue to grow. Our membership is higher than it’s ever been and we have set a goal to grow to 600 members. Together, we shop and source local to promote our community’s economic strength. Many of you, and members of our community, participated in the promotional efforts to push shop local through fun events like Cantonopoly and our Christmas elf on a shelf. Participation in these promotions drives consumers to your businesses and gives you the opportunity to showcase what you offer. Your Chamber of Commerce will continue creating fun promotions that help us all grow stronger. 2021 was an exciting and productive year for the Canton Texas Chamber of Commerce, We continued to grow and encourage local business. Our membership continued to climb as we worked hard to deliver meaningful benefits and programs to over 500 members and to the Canton Community. CTCC programs in 2021 included 26 Ribbon Cuttings, four AM Connections, one Morning at the Marketplace, 9 Business After Hours, Four Quarterly Luncheons, Annual Community Awards Dinner, July 4th Parade and Hot Dog Eating Competition, One Night Of Holiday Magic, Lighted Christmas Parade and Snow Day Festival, Leadership Van Zandt Class 4, Shop Local Campaign and much more. One Night of Holiday Magic
Raised $2112.00 for the Canton Fire Department’s Christmas for Kids
The Canton Texas Chamber of Commerce has hosted the annual ‘Festival of Trees’ to raise money for the Canton Volunteer Fire Department’s Christmas for Kids program. In 2021, the decision was made to change the week-long event to ‘One Night of Holiday Magic.’ For the magical evening, the chamber had trees and wreaths to bid on. With the purchase of a ticket, those attending received food and wine, if they chose to do so. The Canton Marketplace was the perfect place for the event as the vendors provided special Christmas shopping deals. The Chamber provided live entertainment and a good time was had by everyone who attended. An impressive $2,112.00 was raised for the Canton Volunteer Fire Department and the chamber is expecting an even bigger turnout this year.
