Alabama Medical Group (AMG) is well-known in the Bay Area for its multi-specialty capabilities. Allowing patients the ability to address various concerns all within the convenience of one location, their most recent endeavor is their addition of a brand-new esthetics department. Combining the talents of physicians and estheticians, the esthetics department offers its guests an experience like no other.

labama Medical Group’s new esthetics department isn’t like your typical spa (though they offer high-end skin and beauty treatments). Rather, AMG has a secret weapon: the combination of supervising physicians and a master esthetician. The new department combines the talents of Dr. Clare Carney, Dr. Patrick Murphy, and recent hire/Master Esthetician Kimberly Simson-McKoy to create a one-of-a-kind experience for patients. “We have the capability to have synchronous communication concerning our patients in order to create a customized treatment plan to best suit their needs,” Kimberly shares. Dr. Carney and Dr. Murphy have long had an interest in combining their medical backgrounds with that of the esthetics world. Dr. Carney has been performing her own treatments on patients at AMG for some time now, but it wasn’t until recently that Dr. Murphy says he decided to focus more on skin and beauty treatments. Thus, the esthetic expansion was born. Seeking a talented esthetician to join their team, Kimberly answered the call, bringing more

than 20 years of spa experience to her new position at AMG. When patients visit the esthetics department, they will first consult with Kimberly and undergo a skin health evaluation. After the consult, Kimberly then develops a comprehensive and customized skincare treatment plan for her clients. The department offers a wide selection of treatments for their patients, including various facials targeting skin concerns like acne, dullness, dryness, and fine lines and wrinkles. Other offerings include clinical treatments such as Botinol (a non-invasive treatment boosted with retinal, which reduces wrinkles), microneedling, LED treatments (which use an array of bright light-emitting diodes to stimulate cellular activity), and three levels of chemical peels to loosen dead skin cells, all of which help to return the skin to a healthy glow. Kimberly says their AMG signature facial combined with their Botinol treatment is likely to be their most sought-after regimen. “The signature facial is a customized treatment which includes (but is not limited to) a double cleansing treatment; a steam or infrared treatment; a toning

face, neck, and shoulder massage; and a nourishing mask. This treatment is the first step towards more hydrated and radiant skin,” says Kimberly. Besides their top-notch skin treatments, the esthetics department of AMG offers the same patient care its other offices have been well known for since its inception. The offices at AMG set the tone for a relaxing, calming experience in which you are met with a team of experienced, dedicated “skin fanatics” who are there to help you not only look your best, but feel your best. After all, good skin starts on the inside. Give AMG a call now to schedule an appointment with their skilled technicians, and get ready for the best skin of your life!
