More than Great Boutique Shopping
At Assemble Cocktail Workshop, we got to be the bartender, creating our own custom cocktails. It's the perfect spot for a night out. We loved getting creative at the J. Forks Hat Bar. There were so many choices! Hats in all colors, styles, and sizes, as well as fun ribbons, gems, feathers, flowers, and more for us to choose from while enjoying their free whiskey bar!
Historical Exploration & Relaxation
At The AgriCultural, we learned how agriculture shaped the community and really enjoyed the blacksmith demonstration.
We love staying at The Kendall Hotel. Their spacious, renovated chapel is our favorite space, with a claw-foot tub and a dual shower. It’s the perfect weekend getaway.
Step Into Boerne's Natural Beauty
We love exploring the gorgeous landscapes of the Cibolo Nature Center. A hike among the cypress trees along the Cibolo Creek is truly breathtaking.
For a day on the water, we enjoy Boerne Lake We hang out along the banks, bring a picnic lunch, and rent kayaks and SUPs from Hill Country Paddle Sports. We’ve even taken a sailing class with Trisum Sailing.
Cave Without A Name is an incredible underground wonder, we felt like we were in another world. We highly recommend their underground concerts. They are truly magical!
BOERNE: THEN & NOW
Experience Boerne’s Old-World charm and modern-day amenities that make it a “Top Destination.”
Boerne has retained much of its German heritage and OldWorld charm, despite its proximity to nearby San Antonio. Its commitment to revitalizing iconic, architectural gems along Main Street and the Hill Country Mile is evident in the new lives that these beloved buildings now have as exciting businesses. Grab a free Historic Walking Tour map at the Visitors Center or download it on your phone and start exploring! There are local museums, including the Old Jail Museum, the Kuhlmann-King Historical

Complex, The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, and the Historic Herff Homestead located on the grounds of the Herff Farm at the Cibolo Center for Conservation. There are also two show caves in the area worth exploring — Cave Without a Name, and Cascade Caverns.
1880s
The Dienger Building is built and opened. The railroad begins daily treks from San Antonio. Three churches and five hotels are built in the Boerne area.
1900s
Boerne is incorporated. The first Kendall County Fair is held.

El Chaparral Cocina Y Cantina
The 50 year-old family owned restaurant opened again in Boerne, serving authentic Mexican cuisine in a fabulous indoor/outdoor atmosphere with a full bar. Specialty margaritas include El Jefe made with 100% blue agave, and the blue paradise margarita has a mini-sparkling champagne bottle turned upside down within a frozen blue swirl margarita.
The Pearl Antler Hat Bar
Located inside the shop, guests can make an appointment for a design session with their inhouse hatter to create a custom masterpiece to wear with pride.
The Rivulette Kitchen and Bar
This new eatery nestled along River Road aims to bring different options than have traditionally been offered in Boerne, including mushroom and goat cheese wraps, Halloumi skewers, Asian chicken sandwich, Ahi Tuna, Wagyu double stackers, and lamb skewers. Signature starters include butternut squash ravioli, and poblano duck poppers made of spiced cream cheese, bacon and poblano peppers and named for the ducks that hang out at River Road Park across the street.
Hamby's
Long time residents remember the original Hamby's from when they were growing up, and the "new" incarnation from the new owners that also have the Cibolo Creek Brewing Co. across the street is a family-friendly environment that serves up 1950's nostalgia along with smash burgers, milkshakes, hand-dipped corn dogs, fries, and craft beer. A throwback to a classic burger joint, they offer patio and indoor dining along with classic arcade games.
