Whether Texarkana is your home, or you’re just passing through, we are excited to welcome you to our community! We have a little something for everyone! I hope you’ll take the time to experience all the fun and exciting things happening in our town.

We have nightlife, outdoor and recreational outlets, organized sports, shopping, excellent food choices, the friendliest churches, outstanding K-12 schools, and world-class higher education. Whether you are staying or visiting, Texarkana is the type of place you just don’t forget. From the historical downtown rooted in the heart of the city, all the way up State Line, you will find yourself immersed in southern hospitality that invites visitors and residents alike to kick back, relax, and stay awhile.

Come take advantage of our beautiful city parks and all the great things to do in our community, or purchase a home and call Texarkana home; from our museums to the farmers’ market, you won’t be disappointed. Are you a golfer? The Texarkana Golf Ranch offers a highly-rated Texas golf course that’s open to the public. The beautiful Hilton Garden Inn and Texarkana Convention Center are both conveniently located near Interstate 30 and provide an excellent venue for conventions, weddings, family reunions, as well as many other events. Venture downtown to discover the uniquely breathtaking Perot Theatre that hosts must-see live theatre acts, a children’s series, and our very own Texarkana Symphony Orchestra. Check out The Silvermoon on Broad, a gorgeous event venue and home to the Silvermoon Children’s Theatre.

There is always something going on in Texarkana lately. You’ll see it on the faces of people walking on our refinished trails at Spring Lake Park and perusing the new Walk Through History signs. You will notice it in the freshly painted murals all over downtown TXK, and you will hear it in the banging of hammers on construction sites of historically redeveloped and brand-new properties.

It’s the downtown Christmas parade drawing thousands of people, and the lovely springtime Twice as Fine Texarkana Wine Festival at Spring Lake Park. It’s the baseball tournaments and the soccer leagues, and the atmosphere of three college campuses in one town. There is optimism on the faces, beauty in the spaces, and promise around spaces in our city.

Thank you for your interest in the southern Twin Cities, and we hope that if you’re here for a visit, you will decide to come back soon. There is no doubt in my mind that you’ll see for yourself why Texarkana, USA, is truly twice as nice!

Sincerely,

Mayor Bob Bruggeman City of

Texas
