Describe your business.

We are two businesses under one roof. My daughter, Natalie Liles Durham, is the owner of NaTally’s Salon, and I am the owner of Let There Be Design Floral & Gifts. Our building is called Hart’s on Broad. We are home to five hair stylists as well as an expert stylist who offers lash extensions, brow laminations, body waxing, facials, and makeup.

How long has your business been located in downtown Texarkana? Our business has been downtown on Broad Street for two and a half years. I’ve had a gift shop since 2012, and Natalie has been a hair stylist for 25 years. This is the gift shop’s third location, and it has done better on Broad Street than in any other location.

What motivated you to choose downtown Texarkana for your location? About 13 years ago, I had a friend that rented this building. I fell in love with it then and told the Lord I would one day like to have a gift shop in this very building. As time went on my vision grew and I asked Him to let my daughter and I be in business together. It has been His doings to bring our hearts’ desires to pass.

What do you enjoy the most about being in downtown Texarkana?

I love most the beauty of the old buildings in downtown Texarkana. Having been born and raised here, I have many childhood memories of downtown when it was a bustling area, and I would love to see that again, along with the restoration of the beautiful buildings.

What makes you the most proud about your business?

The thing that makes me the most proud of our businesses are all the wonderful comments we hear from our customers. They love what we’ve done to this old historic building.

What are your future plans for your business?

We have remodeled the back room in Harts to accommodate more stylists and nail techs. We have been advertising that we have spaces for rent and would love to have some new additions.

Is there anything you would like the public to know about your business or anything I haven’t asked that you would like to mention?

Let There Be Design Floral & Gifts services five cemeteries in Texarkana. We offer cemetery plans of two, three, four, and five changes per year, all of which include weeding around the markers, cleaning the markers, spraying for ants, and placing new bouquets.

NaTally’s Salon tries to keep their prices affordable for all walks of life so that everyone who desires can feel special and beautiful.
