Meet the Agent KEITH RAND

Born and raised in Groesbeck, Texas Keith spent his entire life in the cattle and ranching business. He still calls Groesbeck home to this day, and lives there with his wife JJ, and daughter Kylie, and son Bryce.

Keith has experience in many facets of the ranching and cattle industry from selling farming equipment with Dixon Industries and Great Plains Manufacturing, to becoming a Farm Bureau insurance sales agent for two years. He started a successful oilfield service company, Vaquero Energy Services in 2018. In 2008, he also co-founded the show Pigman the Series on the Sportsman channel, which has grown to be the most watched outdoor TV program and has a vast following to this day.

Keith is excited to continue to pursue and expand upon his passion in the ranching and hunting industries by helping his clientele purchase and develop their ranch and ranch programs and operations. His wide range of experience, knowledge as well as the network he has built in the cattle, hunting, and ranching industries makes him an invaluable asset in the ranch sales industry.

What drew you to ranch and recreational real estate? Growing up, my family had ranches and I always loved being outdoors on the ranch. I feel that’s where the best memories are made.

What should a buyer know before buying a ranch? I feel the buyers should know what he or she truly wants from the property before looking for a property.

What is your favorite part about working in ranch real estate? Easy, the ability to see all different types of landscape, wildlife, and how others have designed or plan to design their piece of land.

What are the three most important tools in a ranch agent’s kit? iPad, binoculars, and my calendar.

What are the most important resources buyers should be using? Number one is a good agent that can help find what checks their boxes in their property search and negotiate the right deal. The internet. The amount of searching one can do vs. years past reading

a classified ad in the paper and having to travel out to see the property. With the internet and good land footage, a buyer can narrow down their search efficiently from anywhere. Ultimately, the most important resource is their agent.

What is the most profound lesson you have learned from the land or its people? You’ve got to listen to your client. I’ve learned to always have a list of the buyers wants and needs and making sure the land can meet those needs before presenting something to them.

Describe your perfect work day. It’s why I chose this profession, being outdoors, showing property, and meeting new people. What is your most memorable deal to date?

My first deal. I was fortunate to work with a great young family and match them up with exactly what they were looking for, that felt good to me, knowing the memories they were about to make.
