HOME COMFORTS Founded in 2002 by Jason Rishover and his brother Jamie, Heronslea remains very much a family business. The luxury Hertfordshire-based developer has gone from strength to strength and now boasts a development portfolio with a value in excess of £200 million. Jason shares the secrets to his success… heating, air-cooling, wet rooms, utility rooms, fully-integrated, top-of-the-range appliances. Security and underground parking are very important, too. Buyers want a hotel-style concierge and the latest smart-home technology. However, the demands are always evolving and our latest development even features private pools to our ground floor apartment suites! How do you ensure a sympathetic approach when reviving existing buildings? It’s vital to respect the landscape and the environment so that the style is in keeping with the traditional homes around them. We have a background in refurbishing period homes and manor houses – one of our current developments, Hillside Manor in Brooks Hill, consists of seven apartments and two listed houses, and offers the perfect synergy of old and new. Of course, it’s easier to start from scratch without any constraints, but I love a challenge!
Why property? I’ve always loved construction, innovation and the creative process. Exploring new ideas using the latest materials and techniques and pushing new levels of design and quality. Many years ago I saw a gap in the market for downsizers and I’m immensely proud of producing extraordinary modern homes that people love and enjoy. It’s a passion that I never tire of. Handing over the keys of a beautiful home to a satisfied purchaser is one of the best parts of the job. What can buyers expect from Heronslea? Quality, great design, and well-planned homes with 82 |
