Humanity vs. Sales The World Forum “Communication on Top” is raising points The first day of World Forum “Communication on Top” that is held in Davos, Switzerland now has brought up many questions and topics for discussions. Starting with phenomenal communicators as Cristina Gallach - EU Head of a Council Division and Garrett Johnston - Strategic Marketing Director at MTS, Russia - the day seemed to be more instructive than provocative before Stephen Davis - official blogger of UK PR Week magazine - captured the speaker’s desk. His presentation “Corporate blogging: a dying fad?” has contrasted the opinion of Denis Terekhov - Managing partner of Social Network Agency, Russia to the one of Shel Horowitz - US veteran of Seabrook occupation in 1977, involved in environmental and social change movements. Stephen’s talk aimed to address the current state of corporate blogging and how it is being or not being utilized by organizations around the globe. But when he got to CEO blogging and the example used – Marriott’s blog concerning the tragedy in its Islamabad hotel two years ago – Shel supported the idea corporate blogs to be more decently oriented showing (in that case) authentic expression of grief, while Denise insisted on the sound logic – if the sales of a certain product are increasing then the tools used are the right ones… As a real gentleman Stephen Davies generalized that probably there is not a synonymous “outcome” from cases like this and concluded that corporate blogging should involve different generations with diverse values. The last speaker for Day One of the Forum was Thomas Missong – one of the most reputable financial consultants in Europe who is devoted to improve the collaboration of rating agencies across Europe. His lecture named “Communicating effectively with rating agencies” was followed closely for its nicety and today’s sounding.
