Fort Worth Art Dealers Association // Spring Gallery Night 2025
March 29
MISSION STATEMENT
FWADA is a unique arts organization in a unique American place. Few cities of Fort Worth’s size are privileged to command such a wealth of major art museums, and fewer still have such a vital community spirit. What truly sets Fort Worth apart, however, is the vigorous, longstanding, clearly defined cooperation between the museums, the university art galleries, the non-profit exhibition spaces, and the art dealers, all of which are full working members of FWADA.
To fulfill its stated mission to stimulate interest in the visual arts through educational programs, art scholarships, and art competitions, FWADA organizes, funds, and hosts exhibitions of noteworthy art.
FWADA sponsors the annual Fall Gallery Night and Spring Gallery Night for members and friends. FWADA also sponsors an annual show featuring submitted artworks from Member institutions, the summer Selections exhibition. Keep an eye out for our Gallery Guide! You can find our most recent issue in your FW Weekly newspaper, or pick one up at a Member gallery or museum.
All these attainments have created a stable environment that produces a steady stream of top-notch talent, including major local artists who exhibit their work nationally and internationally. Newcomers are frequently dazzled by the quality of work being created in every medium and style. Their passion reinvigorates Fort Worth patrons who have become habituated to the riches that surround them, reminding them anew that the most authentic cultural connection they can make is the one that affords direct communication with the artists who interpret and illuminate the life experience they share through common background and interests. Although the city is justly recognized for its cosmopolitan worldview, it is the local artists and their devoted collectors who are the lifeblood of the Fort Worth art market.
The members of the Fort Worth Art Dealers Association are pledged to the maintenance of a high standard of ethical conduct and professional integrity; these businesses furnish a model that gallery associations in other cities might do well to emulate. FWADA is to be commended for its important role as a contributor to the cultural and aesthetic richness of Fort Worth.

Terra and Bloom showcases the work of two talented oil painters—local artist Kerri Menchaca and Chilean artist Alonsa Guevara. Menchaca’s landscapes reveal the serene beauty of nature, while Guevara’s vibrant fruit still lifes delve into the connection between nature and the inner self. Through their realistic approaches, both artists highlight nature’s power to inspire and its profound impact on our lives. “Transportation Transformation” focuses on abstract pieces by Greg Bahr, incorporating elements, such as patterns and color, to explore themes of movement and change with his everyday routines. This offers a thought-provoking look at how routine experiences can influence artistic expression.

Y’all are invited to “As seen off random roads in the Big Bend,” a vibrant showcase of West Texas artistry with a healthy dose of depth and charm. Marathon’s own George Zupp, known for his bold, expressive paintings, masterfully captures the united spirit of the region—where ranch life meets the surreal. Meanwhile, Alpine’s Jennifer Pittinger presents a striking photographic narrative, chronicling the landscapes and individuals who define the essence of Big Bend. Her work captures the oddball beauty through her lens, from sunbaked landscapes to the locals who could probably out-storytell your grandpa. Together, their work offers an evocative, authentic portrait of West Texas—one that is as thought-provoking as it is impossible to look away from, like a roadside scene you just have to slow down for. Don’t miss this chance to experience the eccentric charm of their desert home.

We are so excited about our featured artist, Jarred Bishop. His innate creativity and his love of steel are a true match.
Jarred says, “Steel is unfathomably strong, impervious to the elements, and astonishingly beautiful. I feel that thought provocation, aesthetic magnetism, emotional invocation, contemporary originality, and the absolute truth are the driving forces which comprise progressive works of art. Steel may be manipulated to exacerbate all of these ideas.”
If you were unable to attend last Fall Gallery Night, one will see the new works by 3 internationally known artists, Daniel Padilla with his colorful acrylic wall sculpturesand paintings, Scott Gentry with his beautiful and graceful marble and alabastersculptures and Tyra J. with her intricate cellulose sculptures. One will, also, see new works by Rebecca Low, Terry Jones, Chasity Hernandez, David Mikitka and Dewayne Nall.
Though Frederic Remington and Charles Russell are known today as fine artists, both worked as illustrators throughout their careers. Our current exhibition, Remington and Russell in Black and White, features an array of both artists’ original grayscale works paired with their counterparts printed in magazines and books.
In honor of FWADA’s Spring Gallery Night, the museum has invited local artist Juan Velazquez to paint in our galleries. Visitors can stop by between 1:00 – 3:00 to see the artist in process as he paints canvases with black & white portraits of figures from Latin American history. Then explore the museum and enjoy the many black and white artworks by Remington and Russell on display in our current exhibition.

William Campbell Gallery is thrilled to present two concurrent exhibitions at its expanded location, 217 Foch Street, for Spring Gallery Night: Recent Abstractions: Works by Kevin Tolman and Enigma: New Works by Maxine Helfman. Tolman’s work explores the balance between nature’s order and chaos through nonrepresentational compositions that reflect his deep connection to the world around him. His paintings juxtapose organic spontaneity with structural geometry, creating dynamic interactions of color, shape, and texture. Layers of pigment, lines, and marks evolve over time, fusing into cohesive, harmonious abstractions.
Enigma presents evocative photo collages in which Helfman combines portraiture, still life, and layered imagery to create compelling, open-ended narratives. By incorporating found objects, textiles, and subtle visual cues, she crafts scenes that transcend time and place, inviting personal interpretation. “It is ultimately the viewer, through their personal experience and memories, that weaves together the stories,” she explains.
Join WCG for an evening of art and conversation with the artists in attendance throughout the day and after 5.30 pm.

west follies
west follies is a captivating exhibition by Karinne Smith, created during her year-long residency at Sundance Square. Drawing from the mundane domestic objects of the American West—plastic chairs, water jugs, laundry—Smith transforms these peripheral items into symbols of mysticism and reflection. The show presents a range of paired works across photography, print, painting, and sculpture, each carrying the echo of another time or place. These works create a tension between familiarity and strangeness, inviting viewers to linger in the haunting absence of what once was. Smith bends our vision to a world that feels both ignored and omnipresent, a mirage that only emerges in the arid urban landscape of the West. Karinne Smith, born in Los Angeles County, has exhibited widely in cities like Chicago, New York, and Ontario. She holds a BA from UC Berkeley and an MFA from Yale University. On view until May 2025.
