About Us

Since 1996, Fort Worth Weekly has provided a vibrant alternative to North Texas’ often-timid mainstream media outlets by offering incisive, irreverent reportage that keeps readers well informed and the powers-that-be worried.

The Weekly showcases local culture every week through preview listings and review articles. Our annual Best-Of Edition features businesses and people chosen by our critics as the best across multiple industries including arts, culture, classifieds, clubs, dining, healthcare, hospitality, realty, retail, and more. On a semi-annual basis, our music editors convene and develop a ballot for our Music Awards that covers the vast array of local music genres from blues to zydeco and everything between.

The Weekly’s editorial staff may have more decorations per capita than any newsroom in the country: one George Polk Award for courageous reporting, plus numerous awards from the Houston and Dallas press clubs, the State Bar, National Women’s Political Caucus, Association of Alternative Newsweeklies, and Investigative Reporters and Editors.

The Weekly makes a difference. Our stories have helped expose the corruption that brought down MCI Worldcom, sparked investigations of an alleged high-society pedophile, and helped victims of human trafficking, corporate racism, and government-sanctioned pollution receive justice.

The Weekly distributes 35,000 copies throughout Tarrant County and beyond including Fort Worth, Arlington, Benbrook, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Keller, Lake Worth, Southlake, and Weatherford, reaching 80,000 readers every week. There are over 1800 distribution points in high traffic areas like:

85 – Number of minutes a Fort Worth Weekly reader reads a particular issue
