The Garden Fort Wayne has grown from an idea on paper in 2019 to an ever-growing 12 person team in 2024. And that’s not counting their dozens of volunteers and community partners. Their 5th Annual 2024 Holiday Market is a boutique market which will take place at The Garden on Saturday, November 9 from 11-7pm and Sunday, November 10 from 9-2pm. This event is free to attend so bring your kids, parents, and grandparents for a day of smart holiday shopping.

Fantasy of Lights is one of Northeast Indiana’s favorite winter holiday events. This holiday light display has you tune into 91.7 FM to enjoy their unique holiday music during a 3-mile drive-thru at Franke Park where it is transformed into a spectacular winter wonderland. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 5:30 – 9PM and Friday and Saturday 5:30 – 10PM and this event is open everyday from November 18th until December 21st. Admission is just $15 per personal vehicle.

Food For Thought Chocolate Cream Pie Ingredients: 1 cup sugar 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten 5 tablespoons cornstarch 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 squares unsweetened chocolate, cut up 2 cups whipping cream ½ teaspoon salt 2 ½ cups milk Use pie crust in dairy case (or make your own) and press into pie pan. Use fork and prick lots of holes in bottom and sides of crust. Bake crust according to directions on box.

In medium saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, chocolate, and salt and mix well.

Gradually stir in milk, mixing until smooth.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring to boil, boil 1 minute.

Put egg yolks in bowl and beat slightly.

Stir about half of the hot mixture into the egg yolks, mixing well.

Add back to the rest of the mixture in pan. Stirring constantly, bring to boil and boil 1 minute.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into pie shell and let cool. Once cool, put refrigerator and when cold, make the topping by whipping the cream with 2-3 tablespoons of sugar. Top the pie, cover with plastic wrap and keep in refrigerator.
