ALL CHARGES IN DOMINIC L. SANTANA CASES HAVE BEEN OFFICIALLY DROPPED WILMNGTON, NC (October 19, 2012)-- Over a year and a half ago budding actor/recording artist Dominic L. Santana was unexpectedly arrested and faced charges of cyber stalking (text messaging) and several other charges based on the merit-less statement of an ex lover. After, unwarranted and shameless media reports from such celebrity gossip sites as Mediatakeout.com and coverage by Russ Parr Morning Show Dominic was faced with a major challenge and exhausting court battles. As if matters could not get any worse, two months later he was again arrested and charged with felony assault after coming to the aid of one of his nightclub employees that was being simultaneously assaulted by four other men. Santana and his employee fought for their lives against multiple people and he moved on assuming that police knew it was in self defense, but upon returning home from recording a project out of town, he found the Wilmington, NC police department had in fact sided with the attackers and again he was facing more felony charges. After, refusing plea deals and losing over $400,000 in film and performance opportunities throughout the duration of the process Dominic maintained his innocence and vowed to fight till the bitter end. Finally his patience and tenacity have paid off, as overtime the prosecution’s cases against him began to fall apart. Witness began refusing to cooperate and stories filled with bigger holes making it obvious that the Wilmington, NC courts were fighting with taxes payers dollars to try and convict an innocent man. Meanwhile the real criminals abused the legal system to protect themselves and set up civil suits. In both cases the charges were filed by the state and not the so called victims. Also, the so called victims in both cases were believed to be illegal immigrants; a factor which possibly played a major role in their noncooperation. The D.A. finally weighed in on both cases (3 felony and 1 misdemeanor charge) and decided it was time to bring these cases to a close and officially dismiss the assault and cyber-stalking charges. “I’m excited to move on with life and return my focus to my work and getting back to where I was before all of this. Love for Sale (one of 8 movies) opened a lot more doors and these cases closed those doors; some friends and colleagues even stepped away from me without believing my innocence. I was on two bonds so it was hard to make moves with this possible sentence of prison time looming over my head which became very stressful. I was publicly embarrassed on top of being treated like I was guilty before going to court all the way from the magistrates in the beginning to the prosecutors. One detective even insulted me while searching my home as I sat on my couch in cuffs. I was very angry with NC’s legal system. I thought the detectives in both cases did a piss poor job of making sure they were on the right side. I was fortunate that I had an attorney that believed in my innocence and was willing to see it through. Now, I’m just focused on my upcoming films, releasing my project ‘The Exodus’ and my family. No hard feelings, NC is still my home and I just hope they take more care with people’s lives in the future,” said Dominic. For more information on Dominic L.
