Collectible Heritage Ornaments Celebrate the Season and Sugar Land History The Sugar Land Heritage Foundation (SLHF) is pleased to present their limited edition, collectible Christmas ornament for 2012. This is the second in a series of keepsake heritage ornaments commissioned by the foundation to highlight and celebrate the unique history of Sugar Land. Each high quality, bronze ornament comes packaged in a beautiful gift box, accompanied by a card printed with the story of the depicted image. Perfect for gift giving, each ornament is priced at $25, available through the SLHF. All proceeds benefit the SLHF, a non-profit foundation which exists to research, collect, preserve and communicate the history, culture and values of Sugar Land. The 2012 ornament features the Sugar Land Auditorium, built in 1918, the oldest community building still in use today. For decades, this charming 400-seat auditorium was the cultural center for the company town. It was used for everything from lectures and political rallies to silent movies and town dances. Today, the Sugar Land Auditorium is a one-of-a-kind performance venue, meticulously renovated and upgraded with state of the art sound and lighting equipment for modern audiences.
