LEADERCAST 2016 “Action without vision is only passing time, vision without action is merely day dreaming, but vision with action can change the world.” ~ Nelson Mandela

Recently our entire team attended an event in Greensboro called Leadercast. This is our third year attending the event; we learn so much from it every year! The theme for this year was “Architects of Tomorrow: Unleash the visionary leader within you.” The live event was in Atlanta, but over 100,000 people were inspired to be better leaders by participating in the simulcast. Here are a few nuggets of wisdom from the day: “People value integrity, but follow clarity. Clarity results in influence, which is the essence of leadership.” ~ Andy Stanley, Leadership Author Whether republican or democrat, love him or hate him, Donald Trump has done an excellent job of creating a vision to Make America Great Again. People vote for a candidate who is clearest in what they hold dearest. His vision engages the heart by giving a mental picture of a preferred future. Vision doesn’t include how you get there, or if ‘there’ is even possible. “Find your passion and give from that place, so you will never burn out!” ~ Aiden Thomas Hornaday

This 15 year old rocks!! He was such an inspirational speaker. At age 7 he walked out of a restaurant to play his harmonica while he waited. He earned $80 in tips. Instead of spending it on himself, he bought anti-parasite pills for villages in Africa that had infested water supplies. Along with his mother, they launched AidenCares.com to inspire others to give through their trials to get to the other side. “Leadership is your willingness to help others for their benefit, not yours.” ~ Nick Saban As head football coach at the University of Alabama, Nick Saban has years of experience in leading a winning team. He encourages his players to be focused on the vision, not just on the current circumstances. He tells his players, “While you have the right to fail yourself - you don’t have the right to fail everyone else on the team.” Wise words to live by.

as being simple. Do the little stuff. Your vision needs to be clear and concise. If you can’t explain something on one page of paper, it is too long. After all, the Gettysburg Address was only 278 words long. (Just for reference, this article is 421 words.)
