LIFE SAVING AWARD
Firefighter Kenneth Carey was presented with a Life Saving Award at the June 3rd City Council meeting for his swift and courageous actions during a medical emergency on January 31, 2025. While in DeSoto completing his paramedic school rideouts, Firefighter Carey responded to a patient in full cardiac arrest. His quick thinking and calm response directly contributed to saving the patient’s life. The patient made a full recovery and was discharged after 13 days with no complications. Strong work, Firefighter Carey!
GRANT FUNDING FOR ILLEGAL DUMPING REDUCTION EFFORTS
City Council approved a resolution to accept grant funding for the Forney Illegal Dumping Reduction Strategy: Equipment and Enforcement Upgrades program. The North Central Texas Council of Governments awarded a grant of $42,163.06, with an in-kind match of $2,400, to support the Community Development and Public Works Departments. The funding will be used to purchase equipment and signage aimed at preventing and enforcing illegal dumping throughout the city.


RENTAL PROPERTY REGISTRATION PROGRAM UPDATE
At the June 3, 2025, Forney City Council meeting, Community Development Director Peter Morgan shared an update on the city’s rental property registration program.
