DESIGN

ETG will design and implement a machining process that will allow you to work faster, more efficiently and at lower operational costs. We can create a process strategy that factors in clamping positions/axes, machine-tool compatibility, cutting tools, loading, automation and of course, the operator.

This capability is achieved through feasibility studies and collaborative working to determine the optimal tool-selection, automation, software, CNC programming, collision checking, measuring and prototype testing.

IMPLEMENTATION

Once ETG has fully tested the turnkey concept, we will implement and deliver the machining cell, on schedule and to budget. Training will be delivered on-site or at the ETG headquarters in Wellesbourne.

Once your turnkey solution has been delivered, ETG will remain your trusted partner. ETG will deliver comprehensive aftercare as well as service and scheduled maintenance support from our large team of skilled service engineers. All this is underpinned by an in-house facility that is stocked with OEM spare parts, keeping your machines running smoothly and efficiently.

BALLBAR TEST REPORTING:

Ballbar testing offers benefits in machine performance and operation. It will also provide a simple, rapid check of a CNC machine tool’s positioning performance to recognised international standards (e.g., ISO, ANSI/ASME, etc).

This allows users to benchmark and track the condition of their machines, and to quickly diagnose problems that may require maintenance. It also identifies the error sources that produce them. Benefits of regular ballbar testing of CNC machine tools:

LASER MEASURING: DIGITAL LEVELLING:

A laser interferometer offers the ultimate in high performance measurement and calibration for motion systems, including CMM’s and machine tools.

ETG’s engineers utilise only the best calibration lasers. Renown for being fast, accurate and extremely portable. Coupled with an advanced software solution and superior performance, you can be assured of a significant improvement to the accuracy of parts produced on your machine tool.

The equipment ETG uses for linear measurement has an assured accuracy of ±0.5 ppm. This is achievable due to its precision stabilised laser source and accurate environmental compensation. Readings can be taken at up to 50 kHz, with a maximum linear measurement speed of 4 m/s and a linear resolution of 1 nm, even at maximum speed. All measurement options (not just linear) are based on interferometric measurements, giving confidence in the accuracy of the data recorded measurements, giving confidence in the accuracy of the data recorded.

ETG offers digital levelling for your CNC machine, this procedure is extremelly accurate and ensures your machine tool runs optimally.

Machine tool digital levelling, primarily analyses straightness and squareness of the machine tool. To perform this service, ETG engineers employ specialist sofware in conjuncton with the Wyler blue levels system.

The specialist software can measure the geometry of objects and machine tools, including the straightness of guideways, flatness of surfaces, granite and machine tables, parallelism of guideways, or squareness of vertcal machine elements compared to horizontal parts. Results are generated in easy-to-understand formats, and illustrated as graphs or tables.
