NEWS LETTER 2017
June 2017 Graduates
Footy Tots Program Graduates We have hosted two Footy Tots Futsal terms this year, which accommodated 95 players. Futsal is similar to football, but played with smaller teams so players get more contact with the ball. Eight coaches played fun games with the toddlers that registered this year; they were split into two groups to learn how to pass, kick, dribble and shoot. Eurique Wilkin (Technical Director) says, “Getting the players to do things at the right age is critical. Footy Tots is our solution to helping that. We do have some toddlers that will wander off to the other end of the pitch to play with the football by themselves. At this age we just let it happen. Parents or guardians have to be on hand to supervise when it does. We noticed by the end of eight weeks, they are more goal-oriented and more focused on the drill.” At the end of the term each player was given a certificate and a ball to help them with their skill training at home.

New Logo for the Footy Force Futsal Academy The Footy Force Futsal Academy (FFFA) continued in April 2017. This program is available for 7 - 16 year old players with 55 players registering to enhance their skills through futsal. This year we decided to freshness up the FFFA brand with a new logo as picture to the rigth:

Annual Samba Futsal Clinic
Matthew Elliott was chosen to attend training and play games in Maryland with Denison Cabral's Futsal Academy (DCFA). He was selected by Denison as a standout player in our Annual Samba Futsal clinic 2016. He took the opportunity to attend in April 2017. He impressed the staff at DCFA and enjoyed the experience.
The Samba Futsal Clinic hosted by Denison Cabral (President and Founder of Denison Cabral Futsal Academy [DCFA] and Head Coach of Harrisburg Heat) kicked off in October 2017. The players that attended the clinic really thrilled the coaches with their skills and confidence. After the skills training, we also hosted a 4v4 tournament, which was very entertaining.

Harlem Bean-Fox Selected to Train at DCFA Denison Cabral said, “DCFA is excited to announce the official invitation to Harlem Bean-Fox from Bermuda to represent his country, his futsal club (FFFA) to come and visit our club in Maryland for three days of full activities with our players, coaching staff in 2018.Harlem was selected by our coaching staff during our 2017 Samba Futsal Clinic and without any question we felt that other players also did a great job but we could only select one player for this year. Congrats to Harlem, we can't wait to see you here.”

Christmas Futsal Tournament Champions The Festive Christmas Tournament was loads of fun. The games were intense and exciting with many goals scored. We hope all the players that attended had a great time and Congratulations to the winners below: U11 (3v3) Winners
Footy STAR Program Launched We host trial opportunities on a yearly basis. Therefore, we created a program in May 2017 to assist players with being prepared for these opportunities. The Footy STAR (Specialized Training and Results) Program was launched with the guidance of Kenny Brown (Director of Coaching at Millwall FC) - UEFA Pro License Coach. Omari Hutchinson (Arsenal FC's Wonder kid) was also in attendance. The program included individual, small and large group sessions, a showcase match and a nutrition seminar. The sessions were tailored to help improve players in their positions and to understand their roles with striker, midfielder, defense and goalkeeper training. Kenny Brown said, ““Every single kid has shown a first-class attitude, from their timekeeping and politeness to their desire for hard work. I really can't fault them. Technically the players are very good, but physically they could probably be fitter but there are probably numerous reasons for that.”

Football Showcase & Scholarship Event As a part of our Footy STAR program we hosted a showcase match for U14 players in August 2017 at the National Sports Centre. It was well attended with many players performing their best to earn a scholarship. As a result three players that were in attendance have been helped thus far.
Two Players Attend Buckswood School, UK Jervay Laws and Eusebio King-Mills have attended the Buckswood School in the UK in August 2017. This school was highlighted as also a top football academy at our UK Football Trials event in 2016. We are happy they have been accepted and we wish them all the best in their academic and footballing journey.

Footy Kings BTC CUP CHAMPIONS 2017
Aquino Grant MVP 2016/2017
Footy Kings entered the Corona League in 2016. The team had a rough start but finished strong in 2017 by placing 3rd in the League and winning the BTC Cup.
Aquino had an impressive 2016/2017 season. He scored 42 goals in the league to help Footy Kings go on a winning streak. He was also named League MVP. Congrats Aquino!

President Vinzie Zuill wins Ascendant's Women Initiative Network Award In support of International Women's Day, funds were collected by Ascendant's Women Initiative Network Committee to be awarded to a female trailblazer. The recipient of the award was our female president Vinzie Zuill and the funds were given to the Footy Promotions Charity in support of our youth program.

FOOTY TIP: Train with REAL intensity. Cannavaro said it beautifully; if you train slow you will play slow. Most players train slow and expect to play fast. It doesn't work like that. I want you to make the most of every training situation. Train how you would want to play on game day. Train like you're playing in the WORLD CUP FINAL and millions of people are watching. When you train with real intensity, speed, and concentration you will naturally play with real intensity, speed, and concentration.
