Directors’ Note

Welcome to our production of Peter and the Starcatcher! You are in for a treat.

Each year at RAHS Drama, we choose a show that will help move our program to a higher level of skill and quality. It’s been a while since we have done a show as technically rich as this one - but since we knew we had a large crew eager to learn, we chose a show that would highlight their growing skillsets.

The production you are about to see is also not quite a traditional musical: this is more play than it is music. We wanted to give our performers a juicy script full of dialogue so we could work on honing their acting skills.

Finally, we approached this show as an ensemble piece. We started with a two-week audition and rehearsal process where we developed community, dug into the dramaturgy of the script, and started rehearsing before we even cast the show. It was a great success, and now, ten weeks later, we have a theatrically rich production that we are all incredibly proud of.

Thank you for supporting arts in education. Enjoy the show!
