FROM THE PRESIDENT As President, as well as a singing member of the Waukesha Choral Union, I am honored and privileged to welcome you to our 2010-2011 concert season,” Putting Together a Community of Singers”. Today’s presentation of Handel’s Messiah continues a long tradition of this community event. It is both a thrill and an honor to be among the participants. This series of free community concerts has been made possible in large part through the efforts of our longtime friend, singer, benefactor, and tireless champion—Mr. Fred Portz. Sadly, we lost Fred this past year; those of us who knew and loved him will hold his memory close to our hearts throughout this performance and for many years to come. Our ambitious 2010-2011 season is made possible not only by the hard work and dedication of our singers and instrumentalists but also by the support of our donors, advertisers, sponsors, volunteers, and all those who attend our concerts. In order to be successful, our organization needs the efforts of all of these participants. Just like putting together the pieces of a puzzle. As a member of today’s audience you are one piece of the puzzle. You can turn that into many pieces by inviting friends, family members, and neighbors to experience the wonderful performances that will make up the rest of our 2010- 2011 season. Tom Custis WCU President
