MISSION Our mission is to allow all students regardless of race or religion to experience and participate in the art of ballet and other allied dance forms.

Our mission is to provide each student with the freedom to explore their artistry. While creativity is strongly encouraged, we insist that each dancer have the technique and discipline which embodies this time-honored art form. The Company and School’s goals are two-fold; to develop self-esteem and creativity in students and to provide an outlet for artistic expression.

Our philosophy is that adherence to these principles allows our students to develop at the apex of the fusion between The Mind, Body, & Soul. We celebrate our 9th year of business this year. Thank you !!

Participation in performances requires additional time commitment - beyond Saturday classes. Members must maintain a B or above grade point average in school. The Company provides a vehicle for youth to showcase their talents while learning about the industry of dance and performance art. Members participate in dance competitions, area performances, and master classes.

An Open Letter to my Only Daughter Marquita Grace Hopkins My birthday is especially difficult for me because I am not with you for your performance. I am training the future U.S. Army leadership of our country at The United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. When I took this picture, I missed your performance two years ago.

I was deployed to Afghanistan to lead a logistics task force for the U.S. Army, Since then, the Army has promoted me to Lieutenant Colonel. After this summer, I’ll be retiring from the U.S. Army and intend to see every one of your performances in the future at the Iona Calhoun School of Ballet I am so prod of you and I appreciate your dedication to your craft. In my eyes are great at what you do. According to Malcom Gladwell, author of the book Outliers “It take 10,000 hours to become an expert in most things.”You are well on your way to becoming the best at what you do.
