The Lionesses roared their way to victory at the UEFA Women’s EUROs last summer and we want to continue building on their success. This year, through our HERE TO PLAY campaign, we’re celebrating our biggest ever commitment to delivering facilities that provide equal access to women and girls playing football.
• Demonstrate the Football Foundation funding partners’ commitment into making facilities equally accessible to women and girls
• Inspire women and girls to get playing
• Encourage clubs and sites to create welcoming facilities for women and girls
How we are showcasing this:
• Launch HERE TO PLAY at our first Lioness-named site opening
• Collaborate with all Lionesses at site openings and on the ‘Foundations’ series – content showcasing the Lioness' grassroots clubs. This will bring to life the Football Foundation facilities and the benefits they bring to the local community.
• Share best in class examples of sites who are making a difference to women and girls football
We announced our HERE TO PLAY campaign in conjunction with opening the first Lioness site – The Jill Scott Pitch.
On the day there was tons of activity:
• National and regional media
• Content capture to use for launch and as part of the year-round campaign
• The official opening of the pitch with a ribbon cutting
• Collab posts with Jill, England Football and the Lionesses social accounts
• Our Funding Partners – The Premier League, The FA, DCMS and Sport England – attended the event and posted on their channels
• Jill made dreams come true by coaching some of the local children
This is the kind of activity we'd love to do with each Lioness at their site opening and we'll work closely with you develop an agreed activation plan.
