Served by Regal: Winning restaurant wines

We’re delighted to welcome Served by Regal as our Specialist Wine Importer of the Month

Served by Regal is a specialist wine importer that brings both artisanal aromatic whites or earthy reds, lovingly crafted by Spanish women winemakers from indigenous grapes. The range of wine is made using biodynamic or natural wine techniques.

The Finca Mas Perdut selection has gained particular attention from the wine industry. The earthy, fruity red ‘Cervell’ wine is made from a combination of grapes, including the drought-resistant Sumoll. This indigenous grape requires less irrigation than other French varietals grown in Catalunya, saving precious water supply and thriving despite challenging climate conditions. The natural white ‘Pell’ was picked as a ‘wine to watch’ at the London Wine Fair 2024.

The Pell De Mas (Skin) (Finca Mas Perdut) has a stunning straw yellow appearance with golden tips, but not only does it look exquisite: it has intense floral notes: rose, citrus and aromatic herbs and is ideal when paired with rice, meats and tapas dishes like carpaccio and part-cured cheeses.

For a gastronomical delight, Pell’s sister wine: Ma De Mas is a wonderful herbaceous white wine with refreshing notes of white flowers, green tea and forest herbs. This pairs excellently with a range of cold starters or semi-cured cheeses to mains including sushi, vegetables and semi-cured cheese.

Served By Regal was born out of a passion for wine and a desire to make a meaningful social impact within the industry in 2024. With a background in developing supplier diversity programs and sustainability initiatives in global businesses, owner Dan Green was inspired to challenge the status quo from the offset.

“The wine industry, much like others, has its barriers, particularly for women winemakers who are breaking though as disruptors in a traditional industry. One such example is my collaboration with Nuria Renom, a successful winemaker in Catalunya producing the BACK TO WINE sparkling Red Pet Nat. This fruity cherry coloured wine has an elegant, dry finish, with a sumptuous fusion of wild raspberry, rhubarb, wild strawberry and minerality. Perfect for playful summer nights: this red complements Mediterranean dishes on the terraces with family and friends.

Our vision is two-fold: to champion sustainability and honour the exceptional women winemakers who deserve recognition for their innovative approaches and exquisite wines. Secondly, to deliver high-quality wines to the UK hospitality trade, fostering connections and introducing wine connoisseurs to new, exceptional experiences. This is underpinned by our unwavering commitment to ecological techniques like biodynamic, minimum intervention and regenerative practices to positively impact the environment.” outlined Dan.

Served by Regal have a wide range of wines perfect for every eatery, gastro-restaurant, tapas bar or wine shop.

The Endogen Samsó (Finca Mas Perdut) for example, embodies an intense cherry red colour, with an eclectic aroma combination of red fruits, leather, tobacco, spices and toast. This 2022 red wine is best paired with red meats, rustic stews or autumnal/winter slow-cooked lamb dishes and would easily thrive in restaurants up and down the country. For sweet and sour Thai cuisine or pan-fried or chargrilled chicken dishes, the Endogen White made from Xarel-Lo grapes adds the perfect accompaniment. With hints of lycée, stone fruit and earthy minerals, this smoky white will surely become a repeat favourite on restaurant white menus.

“We are keen on broadening our selection, hosting more events, and enhancing our storytelling to help clients engage their customers. Incorporating technology like augmented reality and exploring eco-friendlier packaging options are also on our radar to minimise environmental impact and enhance the consumer experience.

Our long-term goal includes supporting and giving back to the female winemaker community in Penedes and other regions we are focussing on, fostering their growth and, in turn, enriching the UK On-Trade market,” concluded Dan.
