Future-forward topics and trends empower the industry

All-important presenters participated at London Packaging Week 2024, with leading names from across the value chain delivering informative and strategic insights to define the future of brands and their packaging.
Organised by Easyfairs, London Packaging Week 2024 took place 11 & 12 September at ExCeL London. Spread across both days of the two day event, this year’s speaker programme featured a veritable who’s who of presenters to address specific topics impacting the luxury, beauty, drinks, food and consumer packaging markets. Taking in top-level topics, from the growing role of artificial intelligence and sustainability and the environment, to connected packaging applications and practical lessons in design and structural engineering, there was something for everyone.
Particular sessions of note were:
● Gunna Drinks founder Melvin Jay presenting the UK’s first aluminium bottled soft drinks, combining strong sustainability credentials with the brand’s wellness proposition, so aligning the biggest consumer demands in the soft drinks industry.
● A panel discussing the balance of premiumisation with recyclability, with input from the Wine and Spirits Trade Association, When in Rome, Ridgeview Wine Estate, Copper Rivet Distillery and MDCV.
● JDO Global founder Paul Drake and Raphaël Jouve, global head of product range and innovation for The Glenlivet at Chivas Brothers, jointly outlining the use of local and cultural elements in packaging to establish deep connections with consumers.
● Experts sharing their predictions and future forecasts, such as on what luxury brands are and must do to attract customers to their high-end goods, from eradicating plastics and providing personalised/customised experiences, to being eCommerce-ready and the greater use of social media.
London Packaging Week brought together four focused events – Packaging Première, PCD, PLD and Food & Consumer Pack – that connected the world’s top luxury, beauty, drinks and www.londonpackagingweek.com
