Objectives

Lúdica Pedagógica seeks to disseminate and promote the exchange of information, at local, national, and international levels, on topics related to education, pedagogy, research, and science in the fields of physical education, recreation, and sports.

General Structure

The journal Lúdica Pedagógica has the following general structure:

a. Central section: It is dedicated to a specific topic developed from various perspectives, which allows for an overall view of the concepts related to the topic. This section mainly presents research results, in addition to essays, reports, experiences, or translations that specifically develop the central theme.

b. Research and development: This section presents research articles that are not directly linked to the main topic, but are reports, reflections, or reviews derived from research. c. Essay: They are essay-like broad reflections, which may or may not be the result of a research, but which are relevant contributions to the discussion on physical education, recreation, and sports.

1

d. Contributions: This section presents short reports, experiences, translations, or reviews that are not directly linked to the central theme, but which constitute interesting contributions on topics related to physical education, recreation and sports.

e. Institutional section: It presents institutional information, from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional or other institutions, seeking to disseminate news on programs, publications, or institutional processes related to the field of physical education, recreation, and sports.

The priority of Lúdica Pedagógica is the publication of articles that are derived from research, be they reports, reflections, or reviews (according to the Colciencias typology), which are the results of completed research projects. The Editorial Committee will decide on the acceptance of other types of articles according to their relevance to the specific issue of the journal.

Evaluation and compensations

2

The reception of an article does not imply a commitment from the journal Lúdica Pedagógica to publish it. The Editorial Committee will select the articles to be published in accordance with the evaluation made by external academic peers selected for this purpose. The scientific quality criteria for peer review are based on the article’s relevance, coherence, argumentation, clarity, and standards of presentation. Articles will be returned to the author(s) for adjustments and corrections only once. Authors whose articles are approved and published will receive a free copy of the issue where their work is published. There is no financial remuneration to the authors of the articles.

EDITORIAL POLICIES

Transfer of rights and responsibilities Statements and opinions expressed in the articles published in the journal are the sole responsibility of the authors. By submitting an article for publication, authors authorize the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional to publish the text through print and/or electronic media. The article must be unpublished and not be under consideration for publication by any other journal.

Article Submission

Articles are received permanently; nevertheless, their evaluation and publication depend on the journal publication schedule for each issue. Articles must be sent via email to revistaludica@pedagogica.edu.co, or submitted through the OJS platform following the instructions at http://revistas.pedagogica.edu.co/index.php/LP.

Ethics Statement

Lúdica Pedagógica as a scientific journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. Therefore, it takes all the necessary measures to prevent any kind of unethical behavior in the publication. The process of receiving, evaluating, and publishing articles complies with the principles of transparency and veracity established as standards by the journal. The reception of articles is public, without any discrimination; evaluation processes are double-blind and are carried out by experts in the topics of the journal’s field of knowledge. The names and email addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the stated purposes in this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. The editor, Editorial Committee, authors, and peer reviewers of the journal attend to the responsibility to comply with all the ethical standards assumed by the journal from the moment of reception, evaluation, and publication of manuscripts. For this purpose, there are presented below the main ethical standards that should be complied with by the editor, authors, and peer reviewers throughout the publishing process.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting articles to be published in the journal should consider the following criteria:

• All data and information reported in the original submissions must be verified. Any research paper should contain sufficient details and references to permit other researchers to replicate the work. Fraudulent or inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable. •

Works submitted for evaluation should be entirely original. Any works by other authors used in the article must be appropriately cited or quoted. To do otherwise will constitute plagiarism.

3

Authors should cite any publications that have been used in the construction of the reported work.

An author should not submit manuscripts describing essentially the same research to more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical behavior and is unacceptable.

• • •

Authorship of the work should be limited to those who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported research. All those who have made significant contributions to the work must be listed as co-authors. Persons who have contributed to specific aspects of the research should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.

All sources of financial support, if any, must be disclosed.

When an author discovers any significant inaccuracy in his or her own published work, it is his or her obligation to promptly notify the journal editor and the publishing office and collaborate with them in the correction process. In order to comply with and verify this ethical practice, it is necessary for the author to send and/or deliver along with the article the following documents:  Ethics statement of the author or authors that certifies: ° The originality of the article.

° That the work has not been submitted to any other journal and it has not been previously published. ° Respect for copyright (the articles represent their author’s own contribution and have not plagiarized or copied in whole or in part from other works).

 Transfer of copyrights of the article to Universidad Pedagógica Nacional.

 Attach complementary material to the article such as images or graphics, which should be free to use or have permission to use.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

4

When a reviewer or referee agrees to evaluate an article, he or she must consider the following aspects:

Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions on which articles to publish, and, through communication with the editor, it also provides authors with information on how to improve their articles.

The evaluation of manuscripts for each issue will exclusively be based on their content without regard to race, gender, sex, sexual orientation, religion, citizenship, or political views of the author(s).

Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review a manuscript or knows that meeting the review deadline will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself or herself from this duty.

EDITORIAL POLICIES

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the authors is inappropriate.

Reviewers will not be allowed to evaluate manuscripts from authors or institutions they might have a conflict of interests with, or manuscripts presenting competitive research results.

• •

Reviewers should express their views on the submitted manuscripts clearly and with strong supporting arguments. They must be careful regarding denominations and conceptualizations while evaluating the article, in order to avoid the use of terms that imply any kind of discrimination or aggression.

Reviewers must maintain confidentiality on the review concept issued on the article evaluated.

They must send to editor information on the articles published in the last two years.

Ethical Responsibilities of the Editor

Both the general editor and the editor of the Central Section of the journal must take into consideration the following: •

The selection of articles to be published in each issue is the responsibility of the editor, supported by the Editorial Committee of the journal.

The editor or any editorial staff of the journal, including authors and reviewers, must not disclose any information about the editorial process.

• •

The editor guarantees a double-blind peer review process, as well as prevents any actual or potential conflicts of interest between authors and reviewers. Any departures from the above-defined rules will be resolved with support of the Editorial Committee beyond any doubt. When there is a conflict of interest between the editor, authors, and reviewers, the Editorial Committee will be responsible for resolving it.

The content of unpublished manuscripts must not be used in an editor’s or any editorial committee member’s own research without the previous express consent of the author.

Any manuscript submitted for evaluation should be handled as a confidential document, and should not be displayed or discussed with others.

Open Access Policy

The journal Lúdica Pedagógica provides immediate open access to its content through the Open Journal System (OJS) on the principle that making research freely available to the public allows more visibility and a greater global exchange of the produced educational and didactic knowledge.
