Carols to herald the spirit of Christmas in Casco Antiguo T
he “Carols by Candlelight” spectacular this Saturday Dec. 3 at French Plaza in the Old Quarter promises to be sensational. The best of Panama’s choirs and soloists will perform and then lead the audience in the singing of popular carols. “Sing in English or Spanish, or in your own language” say the organizers, “the words will blend together.”
The original “Carols by Candlelight” took ´place in Australia on Christmas Eve 1938 planned by broadcaster, Norman Banks, whose idea was to bring together people who were alone at that special time of year. 10,000 people showed up and it has since become a tradition in Australia and in many other countries.
Now, thanks to the initiative of the Canada Plus Club, Panama has joined the ranks. Admission is free but participants are encouraged to purchase the candles which make the event very special. Funds raised will go to Fundación Calicanto which runs programs for disadvantaged children and women in San Felipe.

The Broadway play “Red” comes to Panama in a bilingual version T
he play,”Red”, John Logan’s portrayal of the life and mind of Mark Rothko, a great American painter of Latvian origin, which was designated the best Broadway play of 2010 will be
performed in Panama in January. This is the first time a play will be presented in Spanish and English at the same time, so there is no excuse for missing it. The play, set in the 50s, takes
us to the studio of Mark Rothko, famous for his enormous paintings of abstract expressionism. The painter has hired a young assistant to help in creating a series of murals for the Four Seasons

The play is directed by Bruce Quinn and the two characters will be interpreted in English and Spanish by Wiznitzer (Rothko) and the young Luigi Pezzotti (Ken). Lights and music are as important to this play as the characters. The music was designed and chosen by Adam Cork, in charge of the London show and winner of the Olivier award for best sound direction. The lighting design is by Rick Belzer, winner of several international awards

La obra de teatro Red se traslada de Broadway a Panamá en versión bilingüe E
n enero llegará a Panamá la mejor obra de teatro de Broadway del año 2010, Red, de John Logan. Será la primera vez que una obra se presente en español e inglés al mismo tiempo, así que no hay excusas para no disfrutar del retrato que hace John Logan de la vida y la mente de Mark Rothko, genial pintor norteamericano de origen letón. La obra nos traslada al estudio de Mark Rothko –famoso por sus enormes cuadros de expresionismo abstracto–, en los años 50, cuando el pintor contrató a un joven asistente que lo ayudara en la creación de una serie de murales para el restaurante Four Seasons de Nueva York. Durante el proceso de creación artística estalla una batalla verbal entre maestro y alumno que da pie a conversaciones sobre la vida, la muerte, el pasado y el futuro; temas en torno a los que gira esta obra en clave de humor negro hasta el desenlace final. El esfuerzo del director, Bruce Quinn, y el productor, Leo Wiznizer, ha servido para que la pieza teatral, que primero conquistó Londres y luego Nueva York, llegue ahora a Panamá. Dirigidos por Quinn, los dos personajes serán interpretados en inglés y español por Wiznitzer (Rothko) y el joven Luigi Pezzotti (Ken). Las luces y la música son
personajes tan importantes como los protagonistas. La música fue diseñada y escogida por Adam Cork, encargado del estreno en Londres y ganador del premio Olivier a la mejor dirección de sonido. El diseño de luces está a cargo de Rick Belzer, premiado internacionalmente en varias ocasiones.

The Panama calendar now on sale T
he 2012 Panama Calendar is now on sale. It is a most useful publication for everyone living in Panama, listing as it does the many fairs and events which take place country-wide, not to mention the many national holidays when the country shuts down for business and takes foreigners by surprise. This, the 26th edition of the Panama Calendar, has the theme “ENJOY PANAMA.” It has photographs and information about folklore, fairs, beaches, islands, rivers, national parks, spas, museums, resorts, day and night activities, flag etiquette and much more. It also includes information from each province, national holidays, cultural activities, religious festivals, Jewish holidays, dates of payment of the Panama Canal Authority, national holidays of countries with embassies in Panama, the signs of the zodiac, national holidays of the United States. The calendar also provides the dates of Carnival and Easter Sunday until the year 2020. The cover art of the calendar portrays the works of Panamanian artist Al Sprague. Through the years this publication has supported many charities with funds derived from
sales. The back cover lists these institutions. The editors of the calendar, Alonso and Carmela Gobern, continue their goal of providing useful information in Spanish and English about Panama. Civic club leaders meet at Panama Pacifico anama Pacifico was the stage for the a meeting of the National Commission For Civic Morals and Values of Panama, made up of the Civic Clubs of Panama City last week. The groups discussed their plans for next year.

It was decided that there will be a Gran Congreso Nacional on the subject that next year. Some 14 civic club presidents attended. All were impressed by the development in the Panama Pacifico special economic area.

anama’s real estate market is now a buyer’s market because very few condos and lots are selling. But in spite of the large selection of properties for sale, real estate transactions never lack their due share of possible complications that buyers need to be aware of. Here are a few important tips for buying real estate in Panama. Determining Price Panama doesn’t have a Multiple Listing System to make comparing property values easier. Fair market value is often difficult to determine here. Many sellers act as if the market hasn’t slowed down, resulting in many overpriced properties on the market. And even though all real estate sales are recorded with the Public Registry, those sales prices may not reflect the true sales price. Sellers sometimes record a lower value than what the buyer actually paid in order to lower their transfer and capital gains taxes. Lots of properties are owned by anonymous corporations which merely sell the shares of the corporation instead of transferring the property’s title to the buyer. Sifting through the records at the Public Registry is very timeconsuming. In the end, buyers must rely on the expertise of a
real estate agent who knows the current market based on experience and good instincts. Making the Offer All offers must be in writing and signed by the buyer. The “Promise to Purchase” contract must contain the following terms: Property Description, True Owner, Payment Terms, Due Diligence period, and Move In (Closing) Date. It should also include that the seller will have all property taxes paid and will be responsible for the transfer tax and capital gains taxes. All parties must sign the original contract which must be filed with the Public Registry to protect the buyer’s rights if the seller decides to sell to someone else. Earnest Money 10% of the total sales price is the standard deposit demonstrating the buyer’s seriousness to purchase the property. This deposit should be held in an escrow account with a bank or a law office. The whole purpose for this deposit is for the seller to collect it if the buyer backs out. Request a Cancellation clause allowing the buyer to get his/her deposit back plus a little extra for tying up his/ her money if the seller backs out. Real Estate Attorney Buyers shouldn’t sign con-
tracts or give the seller or real estate agent a deposit until consulting with a good, experienced real estate lawyer. Different Types of Ownership Property title could be in an individual, a corporation, a foundation, or pre-construction contract owned by any of the above or the developer. Find out before making an offer what type of ownership exists. In most cases title transfers from the seller to the buyer. Other times a transfer of corporate shares occurs while title remains in the corporation’s name. Due Diligence This involves researching the title and the Public Registry to find any encumbrances, mortgages, or liens and to verify ownership. Unpaid taxes and utility bills require contacting the appropriate agencies. Corporate ownership requires researching if any lawsuits were filed against the corporation and if their annual government fees are paid up. Existing condominium buildings (P.H. meaning “Propiedad Horizontal”) requires getting a Paz y Salvo verifying that the apartment and the building is paid up in regards to utilities and property taxes (if not exempt). l mercado de bienes raíces de Panamá es hoy por hoy un mercado de compradores ya que bastantes condominios y solares están en venta. Pero a pesar de la larga selección de propiedades a la venta, los compradores deben conocer las posibles complicaciones que las transacciones de bienes raíces pueden llegar a entrañar. Aquí van algunos de los consejos para comprar este tipo de propiedades aquí en Panamá. Determinar el Precio Panamá no tiene un sistema de listado múltiple que permita comparar fácilmente los valores de las propiedades.. Un valor de mercado justo es muchas veces difícil de determinar aquí. Muchos vendedores actúan como si los
precios de mercado no hubiesen bajado, resultando en una inflación del precio en muchos casos. Y aunque todas las ventas de bienes raíces son registradas en el Registro Público, los precios de venta no siempre reflejan los verdaderos precios. Los vendedores acostumbran a declarar un precio inferior al de la venta para pagar menos impuestos. Muchas propiedades son adquiridas por corporaciones anónimas que simplemente venden las partes de la corporación en vez de transferir el título de la propiedad al comprador. Escudriñar los datos del Registro Público consume mucho tiempo. Al final, los compradores deben asesorarse por un agente estatal oficial, que es quien conoce la situación coyuntural del mercado
gracias a su experiencia e instinto. Haciendo la oferta Todas las ofertas deben figurar por escrito y estar firmadas por el comprador. El contrato de “Promesa de Compra” debe incluir los siguientes términos: descripción de la propiedad, el verdadero dueño, los términos de pago, el periodo de las diligencias y el ultimo día para efectuar la mudanza. También debería fijar que el vendedor deberá tener al día el pago de los impuestos de la propiedad y que será responsable de los impuestos de transferencia así como de los pagos de impuestos capitales. Todas las partes deben firmar el contrato original que debe archivarse en el Registro Público a fin de proteger los derechos del comprador si el vendedor decidiera vender a otra persona.
Dinero Ganado El 10% del precio total de la venta es el depósito estándar que demuestra la seriedad del comprador que adquiere la propiedad. Este depósito debería ser guardado en la cuenta depositaria de un banco o bien en una oficina oficial. La finalidad de este depósito es ser recaudado por el vendedor si el comprador se hechase para atrás. Igualmente, requerir una cláusula de cancelación permite al comprador recuperar su depósito más un pequeño porcentaje extra si es el comprador el que decide finalmente no vender. Abogado oficial del Estado Los compradores no deberían firmar contratos o dar al vendedor o al agente estatal un depósito hasta que hayan
consultado a un experimentado abogado oficial del Estado. Diferentes tipos de propiedad El título de propiedad puede estar a nombre de un ser individual, una corporación, una fundación, o ser un contrato de pre-construcción a nombre de los nombrados anteriormente, así como del mismo promotor. Antes de efectuar una oferta averigua qué tipo de propiedad existe. En muchos casos el título de propiedad se tranfiere del vendedor al comprador. Otras veces se da un cambio en las participaciones de la corporación mientras que el título permanece a nombre de la propia corporación. Continúa en la pág. 28

anama´s new Professional Baseball League is offering fans a special “Baseball Festival” at the Rod Carew National Stadium in Panama City on Saturday Dec 3. The league, which began play-offs in October, is pulling in good attendences in city and provincial stadiums – between 500 and 1000 fans per game. The League´s season continues through Dec 14. The Baseball Festival pits the Panama All Stars (a team made up pf Major League Stars, former players and other figures, all of them Panamanian) against the Derek Jeter All Stars team featuring players that the famous Yankee has picked himself from the New York Yankees. The team includes popular players like Sisi Sabatia, Jorge
Posada and Robinson Cano. Tickets cost $5 (general), $15 (lateral) and $25 (seat), and are on sale at Farmacia Metro locations. It has been 43 years since Panama had a Professional Baseball League. ood, like music, can transport us in spirit to far away places. Our palates can conjure memories and provoke nostalgia. A Spanish expatriate, for example, will yearn for the flavor of ham and tortillas of his family table. Luckily in Panama City, situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea (at the conjunction of of Calle Beatriz María Cabal and Calle 50 to be exact), there is a table from which to travel to those places where Mediterranean cuisine, be it of Spain, France, Italy or Greece, reaches perfection. Restaurant Alkimia is the second venture of Chef Maria Josefa Doval, alias Chepy, as co-owner. He learned
to cook in New Orleans, but ended up being toasted in the kitchen fires of Europe in order to bring to Panama the most representative dishes of the Mediterranean region. For $ 12.95 (the price of the executive menu from Monday to Friday) you can choose from nine different dishes each day. And if Chepy’s gastronomic itinerary falls short of expectations, he also accepts special orders. Besides the food, traditions are also important in Alkimia, so every evening between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm the rush hour happy hour - they offer a free Spanish classic ‘tapa’ with every drink,. The drink which captures the essence of the res-
taurant is the homemade sangria (red or white) with a touch of passion fruit. Some customers from the hotel next door came for cocktails before departing for the airport. They were six tour operators from London, Rome, Amsterdam and Berlin, who were weighing the possibilities of tourism in Panamana. lease help us help the less fortunate during this “season of giving”. The AmSoc 80th Anniversary Gala was a big success but because it was held in Nov. we had to skip our annual Thanksgiving dinner. Now you can join us to toast the holiday season with a traditional American Holiday Dinner, and put some cheer into the lives of the less fortunate by bringing a
donation of non-perishable food to be donated to MUCEC, the shelter for poor and abused women and children in Colon. Due to your generosity last year we were able to make a substantial donation, so let’s see if we can do the same this year. And of course any proceeds from the dinner tickets will go to our scholarships for Panamanian
students too. The dinner will be Wednesday, Dec 14 at Balboa Yacht Club (under new management & featuring Chef Chris, from NY, New Orleans and now Panama). hristmas is coming and the Panama Mayor’s Office is preparing the city’s seasonal events starting with the ceremony of switching on the lights for the decorations along the length of the Cinta Costera this Sunday, December 4. A week later, Sunday December 11, is the day of the big parade starting at Calle 50 and finishing at the Cinta Costera. The show will start with vintage and classical cars, motorcycles and horses. Then at 4 p.m. bands and floats from all over country will bring to life the slogan “Christmas in Panama”. he 4th Annual Coronado Craft and Bake sale in Coronado was one of the best yet. This year’s fair hosted around 30 vendors who set up tables and offered an array of specialty items, from artists with canvases to fused glass sinks, to hand-made cosmetics, hemp clothing and an abundance of home-baked breads and goods. The fair was well attended by both customers looking for that unique item, to vendors who happily filled the demand. Many vendors bring their products to this fair once a year, and often sales go to fund various causes. The event itself is put on by the Coronado Area Social Association (CASA), a group that was formed four years ago to help new residents connect with activities and information resources. Although much has changed in the area, and the Pacific communities are bustling with more activities now, some of the most successful events are still organized by CASA. In the early part of the year, the group organizes a well-attended beach picnic, where the entire community participates by bringing dishes to share. The picnic is followed by a Chili Cook-Off, where the community’s best chili cooks match their crock pot skills against each other in a blind taste test. Last year’s winner walked away with $100 and for the benefit of all, the recipe is published in Playacommunity.Com in the recipe section. Towards the end of the year, CASA puts on the Craft and Bake
sale, which has been gaining a reputation for being unique, due to the specialized vendors that attend. The main purpose of the fair is to raise money for an annual food basket drive for the benefit of under privileged families with handicapped children. This year the craft fair raised over $1200 dollars from sales of crafts, auctions, baking and donations. All the money will go towards the basket drive, with delivery in San Carlos on the morning of Decem-

This year’s dance will be held on Saturday, December 17th at La Carreta restaurant, in Coronado’s Equestrian Center, a roofed venue which makes a great dance floor. Tickets are yet to go on sale. While the dance is just for members, becoming a member costs only $5, and is well worth the price for invitations to CASA’s many fun events. a 4ª Feria Anual de Artesanía y Venta de Pasteles de Coronado celebró uno de sus mejores eventos hasta la fecha. La feria de este año recibió la visita de 30 vendedores que montaron sus puestos y ofreció una selección especial de objetos. Desde pintores de lienzos a frascos de cristal fundido, cosméticos hechos a mano, ropa de cáñamo y hogazas de pan casero y otros bienes. La feria tuvo una gran afluencia de visitantes en busca de un objeto único, y los vendedores saciaron felizmente su demanda. Muchos vendedores traen sus productos cada año a esta feria, y sus ventas suelen ir destinadas a financiar diferentes causas. El evento es organizado por la Asociación Social del Área de Coronado (CASA), un grupo que se formó hace cuatro años para ayudar a los nuevos residentes a tomar parte en las actividades disponibles e informarse de las posibilidades de la zona. El área cambió mucho desde su implan-
tación. Aunque las comunidades del Pacífco están mucho más animadas y algunos de los eventos de más éxito siguen siendo organizados por CASA. A principios de año el grupo organiza un picnic en la playa, donde la comunidad al completo trae sus propios platos para compartir con los demás. El picnic termina con la preparación del mejor chile por parte de los mejores cocineros de la comunidad, que usan vasijas para enfrentar sus aptitudes culinarias. Luego se produce la cata con los ojos cerrados. El ganador de la anterior edición ganó $100 y vio su plato publicado en la sección de recetas. Hacia final de año, CASA lleva a cabo la Feria de Artesanía y Pasteles, que ha ido ganando reputación como un evento singular, ya que los vendedores que acuden son de lo más exclusivos. ast Saturday and Sunday the Coronado Golf and Beach Club had their annual “Member’s Appreciation Day”. Every year, the Club has a private, member'sonly gala. This year the special 'day' lasted the weekend. It was kicked off by a golf tournament on November 19th. The tournament, which lasted Saturday and Sunday was attended by 90 golfers vying for a cornucopia of prizes,
which included big-screen plasma TVs and full sets of golf clubs. At the annual dinner the Club hosted energetic dance presentations from local schools plus a live jazz band. The club went out of its way to spoil its members with tournaments, great prizes, lunches and dinners throughout the weekend, there was little doubt that Coronado truly appreciates its members.

En la cena anual el Club acogió enérgicas presentaciones de la comunidad escolar local, una banda de jazz en vivo y, por supuesto, mucha comida rica y postres deliciosos. El club se abrió a todas estas iniciativas para animar a sus miembros. Desde torneos, jugosos premios, almuerzos y cenas duante el fin de semana. No quedaron dudas de cómo Coronado aprecia a sus miembros.

Farrar, former head of the US Interest Section in Cuba, will replace Phyllis Powers, who was appointed in September 2010 to replace Barbara Stephenson.
France / Panama conflict After the French Minister of Budget and Public Accounts, Valérie Pécresse, cited Panama as a
state that does not cooperate in the fight against tax evasion last week the Panamanian government threatened to apply the Law of Retaliation against France if it is labeled as a tax haven, an act which would affect the French company which finances the construction of the Panama Metro. French authorities then seemed to be more conciliatory, promising they would pull Panama from their list of "tax havens" when their parliament ratifies the treaty to avoid double taxation, a process that could end early next year.
Economy performs better than last year The monthly index of economic activity (Imae) of Panama grew by 9.13% in the first nine months of the year, the Comptroller reported. Most sectors of the economy performed better than last year. Construction continues to be driven by public investments in infrastructure.
Five political parties in force The Panamanian political landscape has five games still in force. This, because for the second time the Electoral Tribunal has denied the merger of the Nationalist Republican Liberal Movement (Molirena) and the Democratic Change party led by President Ricardo Martinelli. With this decision, the Panamanian political arena will consist of three groups of opposition: the Panameñista Party, the Popular Party and the Revolutionary Democratic Party and two governing parties: the CD and Molirena.

Isthmian Update Free Trade Agreement with Canada Within months the free trade agreement (FTA) signed between Panama and Canada will be implemented. The process is similar to the agreement with the US, but "much easier", said the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ricardo Quijano. The Canadian government last week introduced a bill to parliament to implement the FTA, the news agency EFE reported.
Noriega hopes to regain properties Once back in Panama, former dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega will discuss with his legal team the “range of possibilities” that he has to remedy cases that the local judiciary charged him with in absentia. This was stated to La Estrella by his lawyer, Julio Berrios. "It is definitely assured that Noriega will not stand idly by," he said. In April this year, Berrios asked for the full review of the decision of the Supreme Court in 1996 when properties of Noriega were confiscated, which the lawyer claims had been purchased by his client in a legal and not illegal manner, as dictated. Noriega hopes to regain properties valued at $24.8 million.
Plans to boost cattle export Panama is moving forward in negotiations with Costa Rica, Venezuela and the Middle East to boost exports of live cattle, which would decongest local market saturation. Previously, farmers exported annually between 12,000 and 15,000 head of cattle from Panama to Mexico, Venezuela and Peru and for two years have only sent about 50 animals, which has caused a glut in the domestic market and a decline in prices paid to producers.
Atlapa’s future uncertain The Government has taken the decision to sell the Atlapa convention center to finance the construction of the new amphitheater to be built on the Amador Causeway if their first option, which was to negotiate with tour groups to conserve it, fails. If it does fail, there will be a best value tendering and the new owners may decide the
best use for the eight acres which houses the center.
Water crisis The water crisis in the districts of Panama and San Miguelito is caused by problems in the treatment plant at Chilibre, and it could intensify. The Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN) operates 50 plants across the country and in the 2012 budget, the Ministry of Finance assigned to the agency $5,000 for maintenance. This was reported by Roberto Alfaro, representing the Association of Business Executives on Board of Directors of IDAAN.
Cell number portability The National Authority for Public Services (ASEP) has formally launched the project of number portability, which was announced several weeks ago. The ASEP said through a statement that once portability is put in operation, all Panamanians and residents in the country, owners of more than 6.5 million active cell lines may choose the company they want and not lose their phone numbers.

resident Ricardo Martinelli will meet with the director of British Airways early in the new year to try to open a direct route between London and Panama City. The
agreement seems feasible given that Britain is the largest foreign investor in Panama with $8 billion invested in the country to date. “London and Panama have
a lot in common. London is the world economic center, and Panama is the country with the safest and best connectivity in Central America. 56% of European Union exports to this region are conducted through Panama”, said the British Ambassador, John Holloway, who emphasized the need to reach early agreement for the direct link with London. A surprising number of British companies, up to 45 of them, are studying the possibility of settling in Panama. One of the reasons for the increasing interest in opening horizons to Central America is the elimination of double taxation between the two countries, scheduled for early 2012. The British ambassador to Panama, John Holloway, declined to give names but said the textile sector and the fields of engineering and architecture were represented. He added that after the official visit to London by President Martinelli, the first made by a Panamanian president in fourteen years, all
these companies asked for meetings to acquire information and advice on investing in Panama. Already confirmed is the opening of the first British school in Panama in Sepember 2012. The educational group, Kings Group, with four facilities in Madrid and one in London, have invested
Martinelli to push British Airways for London-Panama service approximately $36 million in the project. In the first year classes will range from 3 to 12 year-olds and will gradually expand until students reach the age of college entry. Kings Group enjoy official recognition in the European Union and the U.S., so their students can develop their skills for entry into the university system in other countries if they wish.
The British ambassador said that scholarships will be awarded for a number of places in the school. Both British Prime Minister, David Cameron, and President Martinelli have three years left on their mandates, and their governments continue building the foundation for a partnership that goes beyond strictly commercial, pointing to social and cultural changes. The paths of Panama and England come together on the way: some countries move toward the apex of development while the others flee in the current time of crisis.

l Presidente Ricardo Martinelli se reunirá con el director de British Airways a principios del nuevo año para intentar abrir una vía directa entre Londres y Ciudad de Panamá. El acuerdo parece factible dado que Inglaterra es la potencia extranjera que mayor inversión anual aporta a la economía panameña, con una inversión de $8 billones hasta la fecha. “Londres y Panamá no tienen diferencias. Londres es el centro económico mundial y Panamá es el país más seguro y con mejor conectividad de Centroamérica, por eso el 56% de las exportaciones de la Unión Europea a esta región se realizan a través de Panamá”, recalcó John Holloway, quien enfatizó la necesidad de alcanzar pronto un acuerdo para el enlace directo con Londres. Una cantidad sorprendente de empresas británicas, hasta 45, está estudiando la posibilidad de instalarse en Panamá. Lo que sí está confirmado es la apertura del primer colegio británico en Panamá para septiembre de 2012. El grupo educativo Kings Group, con cuatro sedes en Madrid y una en Londres, realizará una inversión que ronda los $36 millones. La educación irá de los 3 a los 12 años el primer curso, y se irá ampliando progresivamente hasta que los alumnos estén en edad de acceso a la universidad. Kings Group goza de reconocimiento oficial en la Unión Europa y EE.UU, así que sus alumnos podrían desarrollar sus capacidades en el sistema universitario de otros países si así lo desean. El embajador británico aseguró que un buen número de plazas se darán como becas. Al primer ministro británico David Cameron y al Presidente Martinelli les quedan tres años por delante en sus mandatos, y sus gobiernos continúan asentando los cimientos de una colaboración que va más allá de lo estrictamente comercial y que apunta también a cambios sociales y culturales. First fiesta of summer on the island of flowers A
n exciting new event is planned next month in Taboga, the “island of flowers”. The Fiesta del Mar Taboga will be the first beach fiesta of the summer, and for three days (Jan 27 to 29) the island will vibrate with action. Daytime activities include parades, typical dances, treasure hunting, sandcastle competition, cayuco races, fishing tournaments, jet ski races, volleyball and football competitions on the beach and, as the sun goes down, dancing, salsa, bonfire, a Miss Bikini
and Mr Boardshort competition. Organized by the Fundación Isla de Taboga, Fiesta del Mar will be orchestrated Alejandro Lagrotta, Panamanian musical producer and artiste. He has fond memories of family visits to Taboga and the charm and beauty of the small island. Taboga Island is receiving lot of attention due to new investment promised by Tourism Minister Salomon Shamah. The island is situated several miles fromat the mouth of the Canal.
