Ed Byrne is one of the UK’s top live acts, and one of the hardest working. As well as sell-out runs in Edinburgh and the West End, he is also frmly established himself on the international circuit. He regularly performs at Montreal’s Just For Laughs and in front of capacity audiences everywhere from Paris to Vegas to Sydney.
Ed’s confdent, afable conversational delivery charms audiences. His relaxed style disguises a sharp wit, and a mastery of the barbed comment. Whether railing against pop culture or politics, or observing life as a married man and father, Ed wins the crowd with his gentle-natured rants.
Mock the Week’s most frequent guest, Ed and his friend Dara O Briain have also travelled around South America in their Big Adventure for BBC Two. As well as appearing on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie to You?, and a whole host of panel shows, he’s also been a regular on the US talk show Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Ed made his theatrical debut in Brian McAvera’s Kings of the Road. He has gone on to play a number of other roles in flm and television - though to many he is still remembered as the voice of Carphone Warehouse commercials.

Since 2004, these awards have championed creativity, integrity, and sustainability in the industry. We honor the often-unrecognized talents of archive and preservation professionals, showcasing their invaluable contributions to the audio-visual landscape.
We’ve seen a surge in demand for archive-driven biographies and alternative narratives, with streaming giants like Netfix, Disney, and Amazon embracing the power of archive-based productions.
Beyond the awards, we foster the future of our industry through initiatives like FOCAL’s Mentoring Programme and the Student Jury Award for Most Inspiring Use of Archive. We thank our esteemed jurors for evaluating the exceptional submissions, highlighting the power of archival storytelling.
We express deep appreciation to our sponsors for their unwavering support, making this event possible. Tonight is a celebration of your work—the hours, commitment, and passion that bring our stories to life. Enjoy the night ahead, as we honor the best and brightest in our industry.

However, a remastering process utilizing director-approved 4K masters from the original negative ensured the preservation of its visually stunning qualities. This restoration is deemed crucial for safeguarding British cinema’s legacy.
