The Ponte Vedra Beachbased company plans to start construction this year in West Jacksonville and St. Augustine.
InLight Real Estate Partners of Ponte Vedra Beach intends to start construction this year on two industrial parks in Northeast Florida for delivery in the third quarter of 2022. One is in West Jacksonville and the other is in the St. Augustine Industrial Park in St. Johns County. “We couldn’t be happier to be so active in Jacksonville, our hometown market,” said Managing Partner David Burch. “We think this market is set to really pop, and we’re positioning to take full advantage.” Founders created InLight in early 2021. It is based in Ponte Vedra Beach and has an office
in Atlanta, where some of the executives previously led real estate investments. The four buildings among the two parks will be built speculatively and will be designed to accommodate multiple tenants. The sites are under contract. The group expects to buy a third property soon in the Jacksonville area. “We are not buying and waiting for build-to-suits. Jacksonville-based lobbyist Matt Brockelman has left his partnership at The Southern Group to become VyStar Credit Union’s vice president of government affairs. VyStar announced the hiring July 26 in a news release. According to the credit union, Brockelman, 32, will manage and coordinate VyStar’s local, state and federal government relations in the new position. Brockelman’s move, first reported July 26 by Florida Politics, Brockelman comes after nearly seven years at The Southern Group where VyStar was one of his clients. Brockelman also announced the move on his Facebook page. “Because of our continued growth as a credit union, it’s vital to have a team member who can focus on building relationships in the public sector while also keeping a pulse on important issues of the day,” VyStar President and CEO Brian Wolfburg said in the release. “Matt is a natural leader whose integrity and understanding of all levels of government will be a tremendous asset for our organization.” The release said Brockelman will facilitate VyStar’s involvement with industry trade associations, advocacy groups, chambers of commerce and civic organizations. “VyStar pursues a wide range of initiatives with local govern-

Fish House owners bringing back Outback Crab Shack Sleiman Enterprises announced July 22 that Outback Crab Shack will return to St. Augustine and open in the spring. St. Johns County issued a permit June 11 for construction of the restaurant shell and deck at a cost of $408,112 at 8155 County Road 13 N. Hurricane Matthew destroyed the original Outback Crab Shack in 2016. Sleiman Enterprises bought the property with plans to lease it to Nathan Stuart and Margo Klar, a married couple who will operate the restaurant. The Stuarts own six family seafood restaurants in St. Augustine, Jacksonville and Tallahassee.
